Diaz announced UM won't play with the full 85 in 2019

Do you guys actually know how many players other teams have on scholarship? It seems pretty unlikely a team could carry exactly 85 on a consistent basis, unless (1) it awards open scholarships to walk-ons, or (2) it ruthlessly cuts kids it doesn't want on the roster anymore. Otherwise, carrying 85 requires perfect roster management, accurately projecting attrition, minimizing attrition, etc.
Exactly. I wonder do the bamas and clemsons have 85 or are close to it.

I swear to god the off season reveals how much Darwin's Law has eroded since the advent of Fast Food. OP would be dead on the Savannah already.

Man stop talking out of your ****, everyone knows I am lover of more ample large thick n juicy pieces lady meat, I don't put anything with empty calories near my mouth or on my face!

Go Canes

PS: according to Darwin don't the big ones take the little ones food, hmmm so you may want to back up mon petite frere.

I'm a cheetah I hit and run.

I respect Rolle, but his words are a little out of perspective and a bit unfair to the current players. He referenced that Dorsey was a general and people listened to him because Reed and Andre Johnson would back him up. Those are two Hall of Famers, one of which is arguably the best football player of all time. Of course people listened.

It is definitely on the players to take ownership of the locker room, but it is on the coaches to bring in the caliber of players that can compete for championships year in and year out.

Rolle, a beast in his own right, was only a freshman when we won the NC. He was able to benefit from have several future College and NFL Hall of Famers littered throughout the roster. We have loads of talent on our current roster, but Rolle is a bit out of touch on this one.

Numbers at each position are mostly fine but there has been a lot of turnover recently. There's only 11 players who have been at Miami longer than 2 seasons, and just 2 on offense:

Irvin
Brown
Patchan
Bethel
Martin
Shaq
Pinckney
McCloud
Knowles
Finley
Spicer
This is crazy when you think about it.

Close to 30 players who could still be here if they hadn't transferred, been injured, turned pro.

Some of the older Canes need to be careful. They’re getting perilously close to 72’ Dolphins territory as far as their recollections and formulas needed to win.

It's alot easier to jump a route, or blitz off the corner knowing your Best friend SeanTay had your back over the top....Lol...

What did you expect Diaz hasn't even coached one game as our hc and some here expected peaches and cream.knowing the problems we have everyone knows it's impossible for it to be cleaned up overnight.gonna take Diaz and co some time to install the new Miami atitude and weed out the non-conformers.just hope fans here are patient and allow this staff time to do it.if you are patient enough I'm sure you'll like the product Diaz and co will put on the field and it will be good enough to erase the bad taste out of our mouths the last 15 years have given us.

All those guys earned the right to say stuff like that, but you also have to remember it’s a WHOLE new era of kids these days. I mean kids in college need safe spaces bc someone they don’t agree with is coming to campus. They had a team full of guys that would be considered rare in today’s age mentality wise

Ha. Looking at this list, how many of those do you wish were still here? 10+/-?

It would be extremely hard to be at 85 every year but no reason to be below 80. You’re essentially giving yourself sanctions.

We’ve passed on too many local guys lately that could be depth type players, especially at CB and LB.

Without coming right out and saying it exactly, I get the sense he was saying we needed an infusion of more talented players, in addition to the leadership issues he mentioned.

Can’t say I disagree with the talent part.
