If it was so easy then why did he miss it?


Speaking from the standpoint of someone who kicked in high school and played D1 college soccer, I will say that the people saying this was an easy field goal do not understand the situation and why it was such a failure of the coaching staff.

26 year old, All-pro missing from 27 yards in the playoffs to lose the game. First miss in 33 tries under 30. Had made all 3 FG's earlier in the game. First ever missed FG in the playoffs. Pressure burst pipes or makes diamonds.

Kid is an 18 year old true freshman. A coach should know better.
 
Ian and I went to Miami together. He anchored WVUM and the NBC affiliate in West Palm and freelances a bunch now. He's a fairly credible source fwiw.

It is unfair to put every win on the shoulders of a Freshman kicker. That is the coaches fault not the kicker.

The kick itself did something weird too. I thought it was in until it bounced off the upright.

I was upset at the time, but now I realize it was the hand of a guardian angel pushing the ball away.

I started to turn to the bathroom cause I thought it was heading dead center then peeked back and watched it bounce off

He will do everything but change the clown culture he’s created and give up his stamp on the defense. He’s to buddy buddy with these kids that if he don’t give them what they want they’ll turn on him. He’s too arrogant that he doesn’t see his scheme won’t work. Should of spent more time trying to develop as a coach and not as the “best friend”
