I hate the stupid Fiesta Bowl. Nothing but evil has come to Miami from that stupid game.

This board is overrun with trolls, now we're posting clips of old Miami losses, SMFH.

Nothing like reminding us of something that happened 22 years ago!

Half the team quit that day.

I remember someone close to the team telling me that a lot of the young players really challenged the old guard that day - both on the sidelines and in the lockeroom. The team morale was a mess then.

That said, James Stewart -could have been GOAT

I was out of country and missed it. I have never watched a replay of that abortion, and never will.

That game kind of helped Frank Costa to get his starting job back for the 1994 season.

Ryan Collins had more or less been walking on water ever since he replaced Costa after the 28-10 loss to FSU. That game brought Collins back to earth.

We were actually very fortunate to have beaten them in the OB the previous year. I think it was like a 9-6 game or a 10-7 game.

Arizona was playing a bowl game at home and UM was in the early stages of its decline under Dennis Errickson. Note that Im not blaming Dennis, it was just something that happens when you'd been dominating for a decade straight.

It was the first bowl game in a long time that the team had no shot to win a NC.

A number of guys just didn't have any heart and didn't give a ***** about that game. It didn't help that Bryce Erickson was out getting in trouble the night before.

Right before the kickoff, there was a shot of Dennis looking all distressed & stressed out on the sideline. Right then and there I knew he had lost the team.

There's certainly some blame that go on Erickson. The OL that he recruited was atrocious. Once JJ's OL recruits started graduating, our offense went into a tailspin. That's why we almost lost in '92. Arizona had a killer DL and our OL had no depth.

No way we would have lost the '95 Orange Bowl if Erickson had put together a halfway decent OL.

That 93 season will be remembered for one thing, and it wasn't this game.

Agreed.

In that '92 game, we lost the heart and soul off the DL, iirc. I think we spend the entire day focusing on that loss. Both D's played tough, though.

Desert Swarm was no joke. Hellish defense. The Bermuda Triangle was pure legendary defense.

8-7. They missed a long FG on the last play of the game.

Painful memory, but that D was definitely one of the greatest of all time. An absolute brick wall for a front 7.

Kid that missed was an AA ..... OB was worth at least 1-2 close games a year

IMO i dont think it was our offensive lie that hurt us..the fact that we had sapp, holmes, lang, lewis, twan russell and rohan marley and f'n Cory Schlesinger ran thru them for 2 long tds with a broke down frazier as qb was what killed us
