Why would he flip? Texas likely gave him $3M to sign. Or some other outrageous amount that Georgia and Miami refused to match. So let Texas do that…they can enjoy the salary escalation that will come in 2027 and beyond just at that position, as well as players at othet positions that are more vital that RB who now find themselves earning less than Cooper.

Yeah I do dumbass. Mallory is a stud right now. We don’t know what he is going to be at the college level. I don’t think cooper is that much better than him now so we are good with Mallory. I never said Mallory’s wasn’t an unknown at the college level
 
Kid was committed to Georgia before btw. Then liked Texas all of a sudden. Never wanted to be here I guess. I thought he was in the bag cause he was at a ton of games.

But move on. Find another back. Two every year. Cream rises to the top. Rest hit the portal. Get a kid with some speed to complement Mallory. Get some bang for the buck.

Let me spell it out for you. Read very slowly. Every high school kid is a gamble when you are throwing that much money at them. You can project what they will be but you have no clue. Mallory isn’t far off from the level Cooper is right now.

Derrick Henry, Dalvin cook etc… there are levels to this. Not sure cooper is on the level of those guys. We will see in 3 years .

I would argue those “game changers “ had “game changers “ on the o line that went a **** of a long way to their perception as “game changers”

Be dominant in the trenches and have a great qb. That’s 90% of football. I wouldn’t allocate significant resources to the running back position .
 
both us and UGA like him at LB too. We have 3 very talented RB's not including brown. UT told him hes the only rb they are recruiting and hes walking into a starting rb job next year. this one hurts from perception but we are find at RB, its not like losing JJ.

It’s a different era .. kids today are polar opposites of the heydays of the 80s early 90s and last run early 2000s it’s a me me me world now
