listen we all make fun of Dabo and for a few years it was Clemple. but Mario’s time at Miami is lining up like his time at Clemson assuming Mario wins 10-11 last year then the next 2 years maybe just missing on playoffs one more year but gettin and Acc ship they are even more alike. Dabo also had the knock of not winning the big ones. Then it was “well he took us this far maybe it’s time for someone else to take us the next step.” He also had a lot of “help” recruiting. Dabo landed a bunch of very good classes and was considered and elite recruiter regardless. Now it’s legal and we are very well off.

Dabo was in like year 6 before he won the big ones.

A solid defense even with a slightly worse offense should get us to double digit wins and in the Acc champ game.
I agree with your last sentence, but Dabo was a first-time HC...this is Mario's third stint. Not only that, Mario has been a HC for 18 years and he had similar issues at his previous stops.

I get that…bit I tend to throw FIU out because from all indications there are high schools with better situations

So I am comparing their time at their two current schools and how rosters and programs were constructed, knocks on the coach even after several years and then the break through.

So fingers crossed because we seem to be ahead on the path to success. This season will tell us a lot

He won the pac 12 twice and one of them with a losing record.
It wasn’t a losing record but 4-3 PAC 12 champion isn’t really impressive.

Just like going 10-3 and losing the Pop tart bowl isn’t really winning. A single third place ACC finish isn’t winning. It’s just a little better than usual for Miami.

Why does HE have to prove it? He's a head coach who's won the pac 10 (which was his TEAMS conference) multiple times & a rose bowl to go along with it. Because he hasn't taken us there YET sucks for us but for the people trying to find a story line that says he can't do this because he hasn't in 3 years is a lil foolish. Do we all wanna get over that hump? If we don't then whoever says that is a natural cuck & a ****** loser.

So you think next years team will be better than this years? I don’t see it. So if he doesn’t win this year then that will put him in YEAR 5 and not going or winning the ACC again! Any other coach would be fired.

I like Mario, I want Miami to win. Miami blew it last year. He has to win this year. That’s my opinion.

hes trying to give a dude 15 years to win meanwhile the same luxury wasnt afforded to anyone else.

keeping it consistent, Mario has done what all our other failed coaches have done previously. 2 **** years, 1 good season, and year 4 was where it fell apart. lets see what happens this year bc he needs to win 10+ or hes the same as the rest except he failed with unlimited resources for miami at least

Many believe this is the best roster in two decades, so yes, I think it's reasonable this years team will be better. With the navigate the schedule? That's an entirely different question.

If Hetherman can truly impact the defense significantly we can definitely become a much more balanced team. Having super Cam wasn't a sustainable model going forward. If the defense makes a big leap they can keep most of the oppositions O in check and lean on the run game with a solid, highly experienced qb. That won't be fun to watch like last year but if it gets us to 10 wins & Charlotte its mission accomplished.

None of those coaches won 10 regular season games, except Richt, and we’d have never fired him.

Gotta be really good again this year though or yes, of course, the momentum ballon gets the air let out of it.

We got a big one week one. Go win it. But regardless, everyone overreacts to week 1, good and bad. Gotta get to Charlotte.

Spot On, this is what I have been talking about, last season was not Positive Winning. 10-3 looked nice a the end of last season, but nothing about the season felt positive and I feel that some kids out there think the same way.

It’s positive in that it’s a step in the right direction. But when people say you need to win to get elite recruits, they don’t mean 10-3 Pop Tart Bowl. We’re competing against playoff teams and championship winners for recruits. We need to WIN to compete with those guys.

Seems simple. Call Derek this morning and tell him about the PAC-12 titles and I’m sure he’ll commit to us.

I don't want the long tangents. If he weren't an alum, would this post exist?
