Deriq King Torches the (not 1st team) defense in Scrimmage

Who has actually put up those numbers against our first team defense?
Benkert from UVA back in 2017 would likely be the closest thing, but he threw only 4 TD's and 1 INT. In the ACC Championship Game Bryant from Clemson did go 23-29, but they only had 300 yards of total offense and he had 1 TD, so while the completion % was high he wasn't exactly torching the defense getting yards and scores at will.

The Wisconsin QB couldn't throw a forward pass all season but looked like 1985 Dan Marino versus us.
The Louisville QB had a really nice day too, but I was told it was against our back-ups.

But I'm not gonna sit here and debate with people about our defense never giving up career performances. That's asinine and ridiculous. We let RB's at FIU and UAB have days against us, we won't even talk about Clemson's QB or the entire UNC offense.

Or the converted Vatech WR to QB making his first start vs Miami and went off

King is a cerebral Qb. He is the best leader we have had since Dorsey at QB. Better than Kaaya. He is a grown man. Im not putting that as an indictment on the defense. Its not like he has torched real college defenses with no preseason and a new OC and new team, with Wiggins and Pope dropping balls. I can see him throwing for 4000 yards this season. No cap.
Yea i agree with this. It should be more of a statement on him and the offense which should both be good. Having said that, i think we will need to outscore alot of teams this year.

Hard to argue with this. Thats why i think we will need to outscore teams. I think folks forget how often a manny led defense made guys look like hall of fame QBs. We got much better talent on the defensive backfield but our pass rush will be suspect.

So the answer is 2, or “I’m not willing to answer”.
