Derek Cooper knew something lol

Their running backs are all regular. After Tashard Choice went to the Lions, they couldn’t get anything going. Halfway through the season, Archie was their leading rusher.

It’s also an oline problem but they aren’t going to miss any of those rbs. Good idea to clean the room & bring in portal replacements

Their OC is also their Oline coach; and has been with Sark for nine straight years going back to the Falcons. Ironically he benefited from Cristobal and Brent Key’s recruits at Alabama too; but he did a **** poor job during his time at Bama which presented problems for the the next two oline coaches at Alabama. Arguably Alabama’s 2025 problems could be seen as the continuation of the quality drop-off from Key to Flood.
The biggest recruiting successes for Flood at Texas came as a result of Mario Cristobal leaving Oregon for Miami, affording Texas the opportunity to flip Kelvin Banks Jr. and Cam Williams, both early entrants into last year’s NFL Draft with Banks selected in the first round by the New Orleans Saints

I think Lyle is as good as gone unless the free market isnt great to him which I doubt. Someone will take a flyer and his snaps are now going to Pringle. Pringle stays IMO. Brown may be out. No inside information but his snaps have oddly decreased at the end of the season. He goes from basically splitting reps with Fletch against a top 5 ND team game 1 to not even getting a carry in our last two games. IDK why he would stay at this point TBH. Also dont forget Mallory coming in, he may be the Brown replacement.
If someone in the market wants to give him former blue chip money when all he can do is run for 3 yards at a time, then good for him and his representation.

Back to the point of the OP for a moment, if Cooper actually went there because he felt there was less competition, F him. That is NOT dawg mentality at all. You wanna see a dawg? He's right here, about to take a poor little Timmy for a 25 yard ride:

I've always liked Fletcher. However, I now love him (not like that, but close). To see him IMMEDIATELY console Baby Jesus and then tear the soul out of A&M's defense after he flipped from Ohio State to a 5-7 Canes team, stuck around for 3 years recruiting other guys (ahem Damien Martinez) who play his same position all in the name of love of the Canes is so damm special. Cooper can enjoy his time in s.hitkicker Texas playing for a lame duck mid coach. Fletcher can enjoy being a legend in his home town.
This hand fighting literally went on for 30 yards; from our 40 to their 30 yard line. This is some Beast Mode level stuff. By next year, Fletcher will break this open and score. We need him back.

For what it is worth, he was well on his way to panning out quite nicely, then LCL/MCL tear, then some hamstring stuff this year.

Maybe he never recovers, but this felt like one of those "best for both parties" type of decision.

OT, but made me go back and check out what happened to Tre'Vonte Citizen. Looks like he's finally recovering from that near-career-ending injury. Had 503 yards rushing (5.9 yards per carry) and 67 yards receiving for McNeese State. Injuries can set any athlete back for years, RBs especially.
