2027 DERAILED: David "DJ" Jacobs 5* DE from Roswell, GA (Blessed Trinity Catholic) OG Thread 1.0

Maybe over simplistic but if it’s me I’m not sprinting to gain weight…the history of these overly stretched out dudes ******* their feet up is too long to not take seriously.
yeah i understand the logic behind it, and once you hit your early 30s you have to start dropping weight to extend your time on the court. They want him to keep his flexibility and agility. I think he can add some weight without losing that, tho.

In order for him to fully take advantage of his size, he’ll need to add in more post-ups to his face ups and PnR mix. Report came out that he has already been working on jump hooks and sky hooks with Hakeem however he doesn’t feel comfortable doing those in game yet.

But if he won’t maximize those easy buckets opportunities via posting up more if he is too light in the *** (pause) to maintain position w/o giving up ground; or even for him to get into position at all if he can’t move KAT/Hartenstein/Ware/Mara/Edey/Lively/etc when they put their forearm up to stifle him from getting to the mid post or block. His sealing off of bigs will also be a problem for him, especially with so many bigs that weigh more than him.

Yeah I agree it’s a bit of a paradox because even in his good playoff games it feels like he doesn’t get much easy on offense.

It’s why he’s so **** fascinating, imagine what he’s going to be when he learns how to get some easy ones.

People who post **** in here need a reality check. This is not a substitute for your therapist. Most relevant material or GTFO.

My view is that this happens every few weeks and is a necessary evil....it occurs in an already lengthy thread that posters are anxious to get news on but it also contains the off topic banter to one place rather than all over every other thread....

Fine so let me cut through banter anywhere

How about a filterable "update" tag on posts with actual info so the rest of us don't have to deal with usual suspects arguing or weirdos trying to drive up page counts for no reason
There’s no way to do that and I don’t have time to remove or move the derails. I brought it to the Maudes’ attention

People do it in the other sports too, it’s like politics or anything else…most people are frozen in time in high school in a misremembered “better” version of things that when you objectively look back at kind of blows for pretty much everyone (including most of the people remembering it fondly) but there’s no logic-ing your way out of it.

Ironically, the things that were actually better get forgotten or thrown overboard in pursuit of narrative.

But yes, basketball fans particularly toxic when it comes to new blood…as soon as LeBron or Wemby shows up it’s like a hive mind descends to tell you how they’re “frauds”.

“Wemby isn’t good he’s just tall” like it’s Shawn Bradley or some ****.

No different than the “LeBron has no clutch gene” nonsense.

The closest parallel for that particular dynamic in my mind is actually tennis, people love to hate the new blood until they in turn have become generational and then the fans pretend they loved them the whole time. My mom HATED the Williams sisters and Nadal and now she cries when they retire (though to be honest there are probably other factors at play there I don’t need to spell out).
True I overstated it for basketball because its worse than any other sport, older people do it as well with society...My family swear Miami was more peaceful in the 80s lol

But what i notice about football is there is an unspoken about respect from each generation. Its like everyone understands every era is held together as time continues. It should be the same with basketball, because no era could be exist without the one before

There is no wemby if there wasn’t a giannis and no giannis if there wasn’t a kd, no kd if there wasn’t a magic, no magic if there wasn’t an oscar etc etc. It’s like a dna chain

Wemby will be the best player of all-time, health permitting. Absolutely unfair to be 7'4 and that skilled both athletically and offensively. He turned 22 in January, this is literally the worst he's ever going to be. Wait until he adds 25 pounds and still gets better shooting and with the ball in his hands. Nobody has ever seen anything even remotely close to him.

These giants have trouble staying healthy a lot of the time, though. That's the only wild-card with him. If we can fast forward 15 years and he's playing in 70+ games for all of them, he's going to be the face of basketball around the world and the most famous athlete on Earth.
He’s certainly on that path, only few have been this great this young with alot of potential ahead but the amount he has to do to even crack the top5 ever is alot man. Im not one to be biased to established greats but he has a long long long way to go to even be considered

Nah I dont watch it either **** is ***, only reason I am interested is because as a Knick fan as a kid this is like a miracle. Other than this I will never touch this bs again, they already setting up Wemby for the tiktok generation to be the next Lebron or MJ,,,,,,,dude looks like a goofy nerd when he plays man. I remember it looking a certain way but some players just play goofy ash and it works for some reason.
Lmfao see what i mean @cookies @cowboycane

He reminds me a bit of Ralph Sampson who I thought had a shot to be one of the best of all time, but his body just fell apart.

Or a post limit. You got folks on here averaging +10 post per day for 15 years , like if their opinions are that important. I’d consider myself a casual CIS fan but every time I get on it’s the same idiots arguing just to argue. It gets old
