Its the major issue this year and Richt said so at the beginning of the year. In 2 years it wont be . We are actually redshirting qbs . I expect an infusion of talent especially at the offensive tackle position and added depth at the DB and linebacker position. With the way the defense is playing its going to attract the top talent here.
This season will greatly depend on who gets injured and how well the coaches have improved the previously marginal players. Most of us agree that 9-3 would be considered successful this year. Anything above that will be gravy. We lost by a missed PAT to FSU otherwise we are undefeated.
But we have been hanging by a thread in terms of injuries and with 2 games in 12 days the ACC has done us no favors. How tough is this team? We will find out Saturday .A win bodes well for the rest of the season.

The DL is deep now and with savages like dj Johnson coming next year, we will dominate.

please do not "anoint" dj johnson . . . he has not taken a snap in college . . . .

or atleast that what others on this board tell me when it comes to getting excited about incoming recruits

Remember that stupid thread all about not wanting to hear about our lack of depth...

Willis - sprained knee
Coley - sprained knee
Thomas - broken hand
Shaq - torn labrum
Sunny - broken leg

Overblown issue. Coming into the season I was worried about the depth on defense but it has not been an issue. We have one of the deepest groups on DL with little drop off. Miami looked every bit the part against FSU just played not to lose on offense instead of playing to win. Difference was FSU knows how to win close games and Miami doesn't.

A win is a must this week. Can't imagine how this board will react if we lose....

This board will be put on suicide watch the rest of the season if we lose, and there will be a million kaaya and richt threads

The people freaking out are the ones who had predicted 10+ wins and failed to acknowledge any possible reason for less than that.

8-4 or 9-3 with a bowl win is more likely than a ACCCG berth, Id be fine with that considering we havent won a bowl game in like 10 years

With our schedule less then 9 would be horrendous.

What I remember is folks predicting doom and gloom before the first game was played because of the potential of player A, B, C, etc getting injured.....what was the point? Injuries happen to all programs.....it is the ugly side of football.....Arizona was playing with 3rd string center last Saturday against a Utah team playing without their top two backs.....game went on....part of life.

8-9+ in Richts first year (considering our depth) isnt terrible but isnt good either. Read somewhere that we have 70 scholarships guys out of the maximum of 85.... Not good.
