-Miami can say they’ve already accomplished that. They offered Cain (6-1, 190) in January but the relationship was well established by that point.
-Says“I had been talking to Coach (Larry) Scott since my freshman year and he said I would always be high on their board,” “We stayed in contact ever since and last month, he told me I had earned an offer. I know he keeps it real because he’s been with me since day one. He always felt like more than just a coach, he treats me like a son or a close family member.”
-made it down to Coral Gables over the summer and he admitted that a chance to play for the Hurricanes is pretty appealing.
-Says“It was good to get that (offer) after talking for the longest and I was down there last summer,” “I saw all the new things they have coming up and they’re a great football team too. They were pretty young this year and they’re getting bigger. Seeing myself at Miami, it’s pretty high up there.”
-Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, and UCF have also offered Cain.
-Says“I don’t have a list right now, I’ve only visited Florida, Florida State, Miami, and USF,” “I was supposed to hit some junior days but I couldn’t go because I had a 7-on-7 tournament. Probably the next time I can get out is the summer when I go on a bus tour of like five or six different schools.”
-Cain’s stock began to take off in December when college coaches are able to really dive into recruiting head first.
-Says“It’s a good feeling right now but I’m not going to let that stop me from working and staying humble,” “There’s too much time left for that to happen. I do appreciate how schools are noticing me and everything is paying off.”
-Cain has been his team’s starting quarterback the past two seasons, accounting for 30 touchdowns (23 passing, 7 rushing). He will continue there as a senior before likely transitioning to wideout in college.
-Says“I’m a dominant player, I’m smart on the field, and I make good decisions,” “I’m quick on my feet, I have great hands, great size, and I know how to use my strength. I can play anywhere but most colleges expect me to be a receiver. I haven’t decided yet but some of them said they would accept me as a quarterback too.”
-Cain carries a grade of 93 from 247Sports, ranking him 16th in the nation at his position and 22nd overall in the state of Florida.
