I love him, but the play where FAU's returner fumbled the punt and Deon fell on it personifies Miami football under Al Golden.

Great scoop and score opportunity, every chance for a big play. We had blockers, Bush had the momentum to grab it and go, and the endzone was right there...but instead, he safely falls on the ball. Burns was ****ed, and so was I. Just felt so Golden-esque. Be careful...don't take risks...play it safe.

And of course, what happens? We can't punch it in and then miss the FG. We come up empty.

Not picking on DB so much as I can't help but notice the obvious parallels, and a mindset that has clearly infected this program on every level. There's no question.

Reed, Taylor, etc would have been absolutely fighting over who would scoop it, then they would have raced to the zone like rabid dogs.

Now? Well, hey...this is who we are. Tied with FAU mid-3rd quarter as I write this.

But your right Al golden is ******* terrible and should be escorted off the sidelines and striped of every article of clothing that has the U on it.

The smart play is make sure you recover it. I'm glad I saw a UM player make a heads up play. Why risk not getting the ball by trying to scoop it up and advance for no reason

I hear you man, but it's bigger than that.

The smart play last week was for Elder to "stay the **** away from the ball" on the punt, but he's a baller so he was aggressive and made a big time play.

The smart play was for Ed Reed to not strip the ball from Matt Walters against BC. But I digress.

A good description of the Golden Years. Or, should I say Fools-Gold Era.

Golden sucks and the team shows little emotion but this post is stupid. Becuase of the rules in place regarding the situation op is using as his example make it a moot point.

Forgot about the rule in the moment, so yes that particular play is a bad example for the point I'm making. But the point is certainly not moot.

Maybe he is smart and knew the phucking rule

There are really petty posts out there with no merit but this is not one of them. In the Open field and my first reaction was to get up and scream when Bush fell on the ball. Then I thought about the rule but I was still mad that the kid just fell on the ball. I don't think this is Golden coaching not to lose but I will not stand up to make the argument.

The fact is that Bush is a good college player but he is not Reed and Taylor of course but NOBODY is. Those guys were special. But we do't even have Rolle, Merriweather, Phillips or anyone like that. Do we have anyone in the next recruiting class that is at that level for safety?
