these kids are quietly having solid seasons. they make plays. so tired of hearing Chickillo's god**** name when he does nothing.

True, but dont **** on chick. He might not be fulfilling whatever expectations u might have had but i bet that dude,effort wise, is out there puttin in work regardless. He coulda left but chose to stay and play for the u. Just my opinion tho.
 
Chick will be a fantastic 3-4 Pittsburgh Steeler's type DE for many years in the league.
 
People can hate all they want but I feel as if Chick would be a welcomed addition to any team can play anywhere on the line and do average to solid. We have him playing wayyy out of weight he should be and he still holds so I am happy. Tyriq tho is goin' nuts! We've had these guys playing out of their comfort so long it's refreshing seeing them be able to just play instead of react
 
Ya I mean Chick is fine ... but he is always put up as a play-maker on broadcasts.

Guy is not a play-maker

I heard Denzel today on the post game, saying "Everybody has to stay in their gap and not freelance."

That's why you won't see Chick, Chad and the other Gangstas Tee off on the QB every week.

Chickillo is doing work. I watch him a lot. Even when he isn't in on tackles, he is changing what the offense wanted to do, occupying bodies, filling holes. He is a big part of what this defense is doing right now.

Since I didn't see and hear the broadcast I don't know what you're complaining about, but not every effective DL is going to be making plays. Some DLs have assignments that don't involve making plays, but rather, protecting LBs from blockers, tying up blockers and especially creating a pile by splitting and stacking up double teams, etc. Even in a penetrating, attacking 4-3, some DLs are going to be doing their jobs very effectively but anonymously. DLs are often the unsung and anonymous heroes of a defense.

That's often the name of the game with DLs, especially inside guys. I remember the ESPN show when Cortez Kennedy got drafted (now almost 25 years ago) and the highlight I remember most was where he totally split and destroyed a double team block. I've never forgotten that single play. It's etched in my mind. It was just a classic of how to destroy a double team. I don't remember any of his other plays, but that I remember to this day. I remember one of the guys who used to write scouting reports, maybe the late Joel Buchsbaum (a guy who did the same thing as Kiper, used to write for a very good newspaper called Pro Football Weekly). Said that Kennedy "shattered" double teams.

UM had one of the greatest DLs in college history in 1989-Tez, Russ Maryland, Shane Curry, Willis Peguese, Greg Mark, Jimmie Jones. An awesome, awesome defensive line. After that season, when I had a chance to talk to Bob Karmelowicz, who coached that line, the second thing out of his mouth after a general rave about the line, was "Our LBs never got blocked!" He didn't rave about sacks, how many "hurries" or "pressures" or tackles by our DLs. What had him so ebullient was that we kept our LBs free to make plays!
 
Bush still isn't playing that well to me. i saw him miss some plays that a good safety makes today, and he's been doing that all season.

Ehh. I only saw one and it kind of made sense looking back on it. He was backpedalling to save the big play. Otherwise he was great, he's been playing very well lately.
