Denver Kirkland is Beast. Why didn't we sign him?

He had an offer and was a silent commit to us, FSU and Arky..... we were low on Schollies so coach barrow wanted him to commit so they can lock him up and he refused so he pulled his offer... the BTW staff disnt knw about any of it and it got messy so they had an in home visit with him and Coach Golden and Coach Barrow... theu settled it with his step father and him and asked him to commit again since he wanted to be there but still refused... so.we moved on

Yes he did that was all over the place. I want him gone. I don't want AG here at all. What has happened today with momma Duke is crazy. This freaking admin. Isn't tdoknf ****. Let's add fuel to the fire. But this one wasn't AG. Unless you wanted him to play the game and not pull the iffer and let the kid dictate who we get.
 
Another reason we lost out on Matthew Thomas, he thought the coaches were being grimy n it was his buddy all along cause Thomas was headed to UM b4 that story broke... funny how he wanted to transfer from FSU but Jimbo refused to let him go to Miami... so Thomas decided he will go to USC or Georgia... and Jimbo still refused to release him

Lol..smh.. some of you fans want to just blame Golden for everything...he is to blame for alot, but this is not one of those things...... guess i have to be Vern, Pete, D Money, Kyle or one of the writers to have a legit story.... I grew up in the area.... I knw alot of people

We weren't as high as him as others, pressed him to commit on the spot. He said no so we pulled the offer. It was a small class nunbers wise and if he didn't say yes right there then him coming on signing day wouldve messed up our numbers according to who we thought was coming.

The moment we pulled the scholarship was the moment the Al golden ship started sinking IMO


Edit: I never confirmed the "he was a silent to multiple schools part" Couldve easily been true and no one can doubt the timing since after coley came on board things started shaking up.


we also did give him back the offer we pulled but everyone knew it was too late. My judgement tells me that FSU probably did not even want him that badly since he ended up at arkansas.

This is the real story. The kid was a public commit to UM and a silent to FSU. When coach Coley was hired he informed both schools of the deal. BOTH FSU and UM pulled their offers, so the kid made an 11th hour call to Arkansas. I've read that golden tried to re-offer him the morning of signing day when he found out that FSU pulled their offer but Ive never seen anyone I know say that.

I've heard that MT told golden he was coming to Miami after his OV (coley was hired by that point but didnt recruit kids that he recruited for fsu)

thats what i heard about MT as well. I've heard he committed during his OV. the whole story w him going to USC was public as he was trying to get the **** out of tally anyway he knew how but Jimbo said ur stuck here.
 
The double commits was just speculation. Why would you re-offer a kid that tried to play you? BTW had to make Matt Thomas talk to our staff and Kirkland seemed more open to signing with us. We tried to strong arm him and it fell. The double commit was straight up speculation. I don't think FSU was ever big on him and once Coley came we followed suit. Bad decision because the kid is a beast.

u have any real knowledge than what we all know or r u just speculating? we strong armed him bc we found out he double committed. kirkland seemed like he wanted to be here on the surface yet told other schools he was going there. we tried to re offer to show good faith after a sit down with him and not carry a bad rep at an important school (remember the whole scandal following with Ice being ****ed at UM until he got the real story)

Do you have any real knowledge or just spewing a popular sentiment shared on this board? If a kid was doing something like that you don't re-offer him in good grace you inform the coach why and move on. The coach also said that Matt Thomas was never interested us but they forced him to communicate with us. It doesn't make since to re-offer a kid who was playing you and most people within the community will understand that.
 
LOL Kirkland double committing. The guy that runs the FSU 247 said Kirkland never committed to FSU or was silent. The guy is right more often then not.

Golden has now become a convenient scapegoat for everything, including North Korea cyberattack on Sony, Russian invasion of Ukraine, ISIS beheadings, and the Iranian nuclear program. What won't Golden be blamed for now?
