Dennis Dodd article UM's 2020 Season could be Great

I think it will. King is next level. Manny addressed all the problems in the off season. We'll see what happens.

Dodd is a funny one.

Can't think of many more writers up there who love to prop Miami up .... only to be the first to shred and destroy them when the Canes stumble?

Get to 4-0 in some random season and he's immediately one of those, "IS MIAMI BACK???" type guys—and then the first with a, "MIAMI WAS NEVER BACK!!" type pieces after the first season loss.

Absolute tool.

Good points about the 2020 season and King ..... though a better example would be Gardner Minshew's one-year stint at Washington State and the instant impact he had on their magic 2018 season, opposed to Joe Burrow—who did two years at LSU and his second season ended with a national championship, a Heisman and will land him the top spot in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Over the last decade and a half, a three loss season has gone from being seen as a failure (see how people viewed 04-05) to a big success. (See how people viewed and to some extent still view 2017.)

Anyway, I think 3 losses is about the best case scenario for next year. If that's a big success to you, I guess 2020 could be great.

Tons of writers are like that... are you kidding?

Almost all Miami fans, and even some of the national media, thought Miami was back when we were 7-0 in 2013. I know, it was pretty ridiculous if you had actually looked at the way we played. But people seriously fell for it.

People were even more fooled into thinking we were back after the 10-0 start to 2017. The people who correctly realized that the whole season had basically been ND, Va Tech and 8 2013-like wins were in the minority.

I think the Temple and Michigan State games will set the tone. If they go 4-0 in non conference, it will be a 10 win season at the very least. 3-1 means a 9-10 win season, 2-2 and it's another **** season.

3-1 against this trash non-conference schedule will probably mean we're on the road to another 7-6 season.

In some amount of fairness to Blake James, I think it was reasonable to expect that Michigan State would be better than they currently are at the time he scheduled the game.

However, having UAB, Temple and Wagner as the other 3 OOC games is just ridiculous. Especially when the team plays in the ACC Coastal.

The only reason I'm saying 10 wins if they start out 4-0 or 3-1 is because we have an actual qb and an OC. But yea UAB, Wagner, and Temple is an absolute joke of a schedule. Didn't UAB just start their program back up or some ****?

If we lose to even 1 of our 4 non-con opponents, we're going to lose several ACC games.

If we start 2-2, we're probably on the road to a bowl-less season.

If Miami isnt undefeated going into the bye week- Diaz should be fired during the bye. No excuse not to dominate the 1st part of the season with the talent level on the team.

Yea I think we lose to Michigan State. Those nationally televised road games against Power 5 opponents never turn out good. Think Nebraska 2014.
