There’s teams with worse ol talent that actually “ scheme “ and make the offense good.ive been preaching this for two years but there’s dummies still going around sticking up for this dude.

When I posted my infamous first entry here about the Canes being number 2 when we lost to Pitt more than anything it was to point out that

a. this coach is capable of getting the job done. We, like every other team in the country can't compete with Bama (with a healthy Tua) but we can easily slide into the top 5 or so in the country. I believe we won 16 in a row at that point.

b. the national media and the voters LOVE the Canes. no team jettisons up the rankings as quickly as we do when we show even a pulse.

We have so many advantages as a program.

This team needs a QB. We have players all over the field that will play in the NFL. But we never have a QB that can get there. I mean WTF why can't we get an elite dude to toss the rock??

I know it's tough for all of us but patience man, try to have some.

Difference was those were the days of disgusting expectations. Hard to be disappointed when you are not expecting improvement.. My point was not delusional to expect to see improvement

Lol at "Left alot to be desired"...He left 17 1st rounders and 4-5 NFL HOFers for Coker..who abruptly drove UM into a toilet....Notice how the start of UMs demise coincidently is associated with Butchs kids leaving in 04.....What a coincidence.....

Exactly.
Walter Payton in his prime couldn't run with this OL.
Twice we had 3&1 and 4&1 and this group couldn't get any push whatsoever. Running plays average 3 yards or less.
I could go on about other aspects on this teams deficiencies, but the main culprit starts up front.
 
I believe we all agree on the following:

UM needs to hire an OC, new OL, real ST coach.
What we don’t need is a QB corch or an OLB coach taking up spots on staff.

Best??? He is likely behind Mendenhall,Fuente, and Cutcliffe as far as coaching acumen. Imagine what those guys could do with elite talent. Everyone keeps talking about how we are better now than we were with Golden. No **** Sherlock. Golden may be the worst coach in the history of the game at any level. The bar wasn't lowered with Golden. It was buried deep inside the earth. Mork is not the answer
 
Our OL is terrible and we have no QB, deadly combination. Until you fix those two nothing else matters.
 
As long as saban is in football it doesn’t matter. His team is the best and he steals our talent. When he leaves it can be a different story.

We are awful on O-line, Special Teams and QB Play = NOT ELITE

This resembles more of a rebuilding year with more losses lining up. What we did for recruiting after FSU, we threw away last night.

I highly doubt beating the worst FSU team in the modern era by 1 at home. Helped recruiting much.

I asked this question in another thread and I'll ask it here as well. Who is Richt going to fire or demote to hire an offensive coordinator? Do you think he's going to demote coach Brown so he and his solid recruiting can walk out the door? I just don't see the logistics of how it works to hire an OC. Same goes for special teams coach.
 
No ones brought up Rix’ winning percentage in the SEC yet?

He isn't going to hire a new OC.. much like Folden wouldn't fire D'No even to save his own job...

With the talent this team is able to recruit, and the division we play in, there is no reason why they shouldn’t be in the Playoff discussion every single year.

Suggesting otherwise is just excusing the level of garbage our OC is.
