Deion Sanders saying something really important.

Been saying this. Kids in Florida ain't what they used to be. Whatever that magic was that they had in the 80's that made them great, it's gone. South Florida used to produce Michael Irvin's, now it produces Mark Pope's. Same physical skillset, totally different mentality.

It's the culture.
South FL produced Amari Cooper, Juedy abd Ridley. We have a cesspool of coaching that's failing this kids.

Dumb message. Idk why boomers dont get that teens today arent and will never be what they perceived themselves as when they were teens.

We see examples of the kids that Deion says dont exist at tOSU & BAMA every year. He says that because he’s hyper focused on the Florida kids that have bad character.

He's talking out of his ***, which is the only ******* from which he's ever expelled communication.

Apparently we have a mass of Forfeit State groupies who want to toss Deion Sanders' intellectual salad. A hearty **** you to all who do.

The irony of Deion being the one to deliver this message. If anyone is an example of older players being self absorbed and like today's kids it's 100% him.

At 17-mid twenties he was just like today's kids. He'd be even worse with social media. Only difference is he is a GOAT.

If you are tough with kids now, they threaten to call DCF or DCYF or whatever your state calls it. Totally different world from the 80s.

Nothing wrong with that, a lot of abuse was masqueraded as discipline. Not every change is bad, some things have become better with time.

South Florida still produces Michael Irvins...they just play for Alabama.

That’s something. I can’t blame the families for dong this, but it does change the mentality away from playing for the neighborhood. It loosens the connections and probably makes it easier for those same kids to then not play for the neighborhood school in college, which UM is
Hence the St Thomas Aquinas kids and American Heritage kids. Alot of those kids are already frontrunners to begin with soooo...front runners gonna do the same when choosing a college. The recent STA kids we got were somewhat different..Huff and Restrepo. Both played at neighborhood down programs before going to STA. In the case of Huff he never really even left the hood as he was home schooling for awhile while sta. Restrepo left sta his sr year so he can enroll early but was at Monarch before going to sta which dfefinately wasnt a powerhouse.

The 7 on 7 thing in south florida is creating a team up mentality. I was happy seeing Dillard and Plantation being somewhat relevant again the last 2 years...and thats with alot of their usual neighborhood kids playing else where

South Florida is still producing those guys. They're just not going to UM or FSU. Recruiting is a different game than it was 30-40 years ago. If all the Dade and Broward kids that currently play at Bama, Georgia, etc. actually stayed home, we'd still be in the same situation Deion was describing with UM and FSU in the top 10 all the time.
Eliminate FAU, FIU, and So FL who drain off would be Canes but want to play right away and we get fat and sassy again.

This was beautifully said...Deion couldn't be any more correct. Everything is soft soft soft nowadays.

I had a girlfriend who worked as a DCF investigator. That’s where my opinion was formed. Brats making reports cause mom or dad upset them. Felt bad for the parents trapped in a system. I don’t have kids.

Kids do it all the time now bc they are taught at school to be like that. I ain’t letting my kid run the house. Also my buddy is a cop and he tells me stories of parents calling the police on thier kid bc in their words “are scared to parent them bc the kids threaten calling DCPP” and in that case let them. They are only taking ur kids away at most lol and if they do ur spoiled kids will learn how good they have it
