Did Robert Bailey, or really any of the great Miami players of the past really believe that representing racists states was acceptable? **** no. They absolutely stood up and said I want to represent who I am and not some racist state. That is why I say kids are different today. Kids in the 1990's just didn't do that.

Only thing i disagree with.

Im willing to bet all my money...Kids from down here work the hardest or play more ball than any other part of the country.

I coached kids at 11 yrs old that i honestly thought played too MUCH football. These kids are/were year round with it...from season, to 7 on 7. or flag.to conditioning..with some of them also playing on travel basketball/baseball teams in between doing all this.

These kids are all currently 9th or 8th graders and majority of the ones i know will end up div 1 athletes save for grades.

You still cant drive past a park down here b4 covid without seeing random kids playing football. They still are heavy with the electronics but we still got ahuge amount of kids down here that just love to suit up every day.
I'm talking about coral gables... But since you mention that if disagree on that too. Obviously some kids still have that grind down here and most stand out at some point but we used to flat out work. That ain't the norm no more like it is in some states or cities.

Players on Ohio taint, bama, clemson and other top teams also love social media. Is a generation thing.
The state of Florida still produces the top players in the country.
Deion is suffering from what every old guy suffers from, in my day it was harder and tougher.
We walked miles to school uphill both ways.
They DID work harder....Not even comparable....on campus...and off....UM Practices from the Mid 90s to early 2000s Completely **** on what has been seen at GreenTree the last 15+ yrs....Not even remotely comparable....Practices from 98-2000 were a War.....and that's being conservative....

There’s NEVER been illegitimate kids only illegitimate parents.

Dion was talking about college football ,imagine outside football terrible state were in.

That’s something. I can’t blame the families for dong this, but it does change the mentality away from playing for the neighborhood. It loosens the connections and probably makes it easier for those same kids to then not play for the neighborhood school in college, which UM is

All I gather from these “social media bad, make kids soft” threads is that CIS has an old *** user base lmao

Deion … made a rap video before the season. He was the most “look at me“ player in college football. Y’all crazy than a mf if you believe he wouldn’t have been on social media.

y’all kill me trying to revise history.
Bruh this dude would be on tik tok with his must be the money video and high stepping endzone dance, I laughed at deion with his my era bs.. He not wrong but its just funny coming from him..

Been saying this. Kids in Florida ain't what they used to be. Whatever that magic was that they had in the 80's that made them great, it's gone. South Florida used to produce Michael Irvin's, now it produces Mark Pope's. Same physical skillset, totally different mentality.

It's the culture.
Pope doesn’t have the skill set to play for those teams, let alone mind set.

Tell me what aspect of the general society isn't like this? I'll wait, this isn't just sports.

I don't know what any internet post says about mikey from back then. Ut whatever you're reading that says Mikey's height, weight or 40 was the same as mark popes, you should leave them a very negative yelp review. Nothing even similar about the two except south floriduh. Mike is easily 6'2 and change. Mark is 5'10 maybe 5'11 and atleast 30 pounds separated the two. You are definitely right on work ethic And what's between their ears though. Kids rarely work for **** anymore down here.
Pope is lucky to be 6 ft in cleats and a helmet.

Go Canes!!!!

You can see the difference on gameday for sure. The hard work those guys put in paid off.

I've said it 2 weeks ago, college football is over for me. It's a total different ANIMAL now. It's not fun anymore, including portal and leaving the program early. It's become a fashion show like TMZ
