In 4 games this defensive line has completely dismantled 2 of the preseason top 10 offensive lines in the nation. Just put up 4 sacks and 7 TFLs on the pre season #4 offensive lines. This is a championship defensive line and there isn’t a single offensive line remaining on this schedule that can handle these guys. They are just nasty and it finally feels like MIAMI defensive line.

Now that we're flipping the switch from celebrating the win to looking ahead, I want to resurface the risk we have at DT. We have no depth after Moten and Blay. Against UF, Blount had more snaps at DT (15) than Scott (9). Simpson and Jones didn't even see the field.

I expect most of Blount's snaps occurred on passing downs -- e.g., 3rd and long. But that emphasizes the point even more. We're relying on our 2 starters to stay on the field the whole game except for passing downs. What happens against SMU or another up tempo team? Are they going to stay on the field the entire series, then trot back out there for the next set of downs if we go 3 and out? It's not sustainable.

We NEED to get fold more "real" DTs into the rotation or we're going to wear our guys out and that is a violent position where injuries happen all the time.

We just played the 2nd D the staff believes are really good. Rotation's were tightened in both of those games for that. I doubt they view FSU's D like that. I guarantee you Scott was being made a example of because of effort against USF with 6 snaps Sat. They won't and can't continue to play Blay and Moten in that many snaps. Just enjoy it for now! Their is a obvious drop-off with the 2 deep DL across the board. They all need to continue to develop.

We need that 2nd team to start coming on strong now. At DT, I really want to see Simpson and Jones. At DE, Blount needs to be playing that 4i spot and having nearly as big an impact as Bain and Mesi. I know he's barely 19. But this is Y2, he's one of our 5-stars, and we need him to step up there now, not just be a passing down specialist. McConathy and Lowe injuries really set us back at that spot. At Jack, Lightfoot seems to be the guy. But I want to see more of Bryant and Pickett, too, even Scroggins. Long season, gotta get them ready.

Imagine we have arrived on the scene without the roster being where we would want it. Imagine that, cause I agree with this post. There is a big drop off in the two deep

There were so many 3 and outs against the Gators. Didn't need to have a big rotation on defense. Scott generally gets 20-30 snaps per game. They have Mesidor lining up beside Bain in some NASCAR packages, with Blount and Lightfoot playing as well.

What's the deal with Scott? Is he making an impact when he's out there? I know he had the FF against ND but is he holding it down on the line of scrimmage? DT is harder for me to evaluate in general compared to DE. Especially since Bain and Mesidor have been dominating so much.
