We've always had talent but man coaching is really starting to show itself around here (finally after last staff)

Last year 26% of the TD's allowed by our defense came from OUTSIDE of the red zone (big play/broken coverage)

This year only 7.69%, lowest of all Power 5 teams.

Comes down to consistency and not blowing coverages. Diaz, rumph, and banda have done a masterful job making sure our team is in the right position to make a play, specifically considering we play so many freshman in the 2 deep

We don't give up many TD's. Period.
We're tied for second in total TD's and 4th in TD's per game.

That 7.69% represents exactly 1 of our 14 TD's surrendered outside the RZ.

If memory serves, it was FSU's final TD.
The ONLY TD the D has surrendered in a must-stop situation.

That is a great statistic...however I am sad that you went and put the jinx on it, now I guess we’ll be giving up a 70 yard TD bomb this week.

That is cane defense. Speed and aggression to the ball instead of standing around eating ice cream. The speed and pursuit cut off long gains before the end zone. Plus we start 5 yards on hothead other side of line of scrimmage now instead of 10 yards down field.
