Loved what we saw from the D. outside of the Toure bust, just an incredible display of physicality and discipline.

does anyone know Heatherman's track record of defending mobile qb's?

we didn't gameplan for it which is maybe why it was so egregious, but if we don't find a way to account for the QB power and QB scrambles, that team in Tally is gonna be a problem

We will be okay the lbs were moving quick. We didn't scheme it. Toure smacked the **** out of people

Had more to do with the unexpected wrinkle. Sure QB power is a staple of the ND OC game plan but I don't think anyone around here or nationally thought ND would default to using Carr like Riley Leonard.

The concerning part though was how our LBs were bad in their run fits on those plays as well as how on the long runs by Price and Love our front 7 had been out leveraged (we lost the numbers game).

Agreed but that’s not the only team we’ll face that has a QB with legs. I have faith Heatherman will figure it out

Any time we play a mobile QB I would just spy every **** play and knock the crap out of him any chance I get. We didn't control CJ very well but we did make him pay any time he ran!

My only issue with Heatherman was that they had no adjustment for the most effective play ND ran all night. I know it’s because they had absolutely no expectation it was something they’d face, so its more of a critique than a criticism.

Same with usf. Game plan will look different. Brown is a very good runner for usf

Agreed but I think the focus was on love and price etc. not sure they were going to adjust but there are several "dual threat" qb on the schedule
did not like 3 man fronts and it made it too easy for nd on a few of those plays
