Deejay Wildcat

we we ran it 24 straight times vs ND to end it so our big lead saved some extra set of plays i would imagine, not to mention we didn't see any wrinkles against UVA

i'm not sure we have anything left but we havent really seen anything new so to speak since maybe first quarter ND

Richt said after the ND game that they have a play within the stampede package in which Dallas throws the ball.
I think we are saving all our best gadget plays for Clemson. And that includes maybe a fake punt and FG too. We have not tried one of those all season long.

Yeah, he said it was a “bomb” but DJ didnt throw it well during practice so he didnt call it. One of the ND lineman said they weren’t prepared for it. Caught them totally offguard. Nice.
 
Not everything needs to be "saved." The wildcat isn't a gimmick. It's a good element to add to our offense with Deejay because he's great at it and is a viable passer too.
 
A gimmick/trick is running a flea flicker. The Wildcat is just an offensive scheme to get an extra blocker on the field and have numbers on the OL. It also shortens the time to get the ball into the hands of the RB. When executed well, it's tough to defend unless the D completely sells out to stop the run. When you have an excellent RB who is also a former qb (and recruited as a QB at the D1 level), it will be lethal.
