Bomb, you are one of the more solid posters on the board, and you are asking this question? One of my favorite past times is hurling our past history/tradition into the faces of Miami haters and detractors. This FIU travesty has made that much more difficult.

Bro, if in year 2 for Diaz, Miami knocks off Clemson twice and ends up in the playoffs but loses to Bama in the NC game - are you really going to say that Diaz is still stained by that FIU game?

It’s king. He has transformed the mentality of this team. He’s hungry to win and prove himself and that is rubbing off on the guys. Before that the team seemed disconnected. Mainly the offense.
Not only King but yes he’s one of the people that has helped.

Yeah, I mean I personally don’t remember it either.

Somebody told that to me one time and I had to look it up to make sure it was true.

It was.

I think it was somewhere around like 1980 or around that time frame.
If many here were around in the late 60's and 70's like I was, they'd all be basket cases. We had several great individual players, but were never considered a powerhouse program. Schnelly changed all that.

Society today has a memory about as long as my ******. Manny could have rested on his laurels but clearly made necessary changes that have transformed this team in just a few months. It's early yet, but tomorrow will be a true test as to how far this team has come in a relatively short period of time and will determine how long the sting of last year remains etched in our collective memories.

Wiggins post is nice. Wiggins proving it on the field by showing flashes of Leonard Hankerson against Clemson in 2010 would be meaningful.

If we do things right and continue to improve, the FIU travesty will just be a blip on the radar, nothing more. Remember we had a similar or worse loss to FAMU just a couple of years before we won our first natty. Nobody ever brings that up, except me just now.
The FIU loss has already evened out. It’s as irrelevant now as LSU’s loss to Troy. Miami has bounced back and been in the national spotlight for 3 straight games meanwhile FIU has continued to be FIU. They recently lost to Liberty lol

Yes, but I am gonna say he learned his lesson and will never ever never let that happen....again.

Sometimes a shark doesn't know he's hooked until he sees the boat.. then he just swims away and takes all your tackle with him. Losses to fiu and latech last year hopefully was our shark catching a glimpse of the boat. The Canes so far have been the only good thing in this god forsaken year. I need moar Cane wins!

That FAMU game I think was in Howard's first year. I still remember his apology "It will never happen again". But having just gone through the Selmer years, most of us took it in stride.

The game that bothered me was Pitt 97. I began to realize how far we sunk watching that Ironhead guy gash us up the middle. The after taste of that game wasn't removed until we won #5.

Similarly, #6 will wash away the taste of FIU. It's coming.

If you dated a girl for a couple months but she did you dirty and cheated on you, then the next girl you met turned out to be the girl you fell in love with and married, are you going to forever seethe with anger about what happened with the first girl or be thankful it happened because if it didn't, you wouldn't met your wife?
Yes but I’m petty as ****.
