Are you going to be versing Miami this season? Worried about their offense? Don’t worry after watching Miami for the past 3 years under Richt I can tell you exactly what they are going to run in every situation.

1st down- Inside zone (RPO). Very simple, the running back is going to stand behind the Qb, the Qb will put up his leg and the runningback will motion directly next to the QB. The Qb will clap his hands a couple times and then hand the ball across his body.

This will happen around 80-90% of the time. Simple run blitz or just out muscle our O line it isn’t too hard Virginia did it and only have 27 ACC caliber players on the whole team.

Now for the slight chance Richt decides to throw don’t worry it will be an extremely short throw (usually wr screens or slants) and if Rosier is doing it it is more likely it will be deflected at the line or caught by your team then Miami’s.

There is even rarer situations where the QB will keep the ball. If Rosier is the QB this is a real threat, since he was born with two legs but no arm so focus on the option or QB draw don’t worry about the pass. If it is Perry don’t worry Richt made him promise to never run the ball because he didn’t eat his veggies.

2nd Down: Good news 2nd down is exactly the same as 1st down unless it is 2nd and more than 15 (if so check 3rd down). Just prepare for the inside zone even Willie boy knew it.

3rd down: by now if you followed my guide it is 3rd and long. Good news the next play is the absolute guarantee: All VERTS. That’s right every receiver and tight end will run as far as they can. Some will make some sort of cut maybe a long post but mostly just a straight run to the end zone. Doesn’t matter if it is 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 25.

If you are extra lucky Richt will give up and run the inside zone again. Yes u heard that right it is not uncommon for him to run 3 inside zones in a row for negative yardage.

3rd/4th and 1 or Goaline: this is simple. If Miami lines up in the goal line set with a FB it will be a FB draw 90% of the time. Qb sneak will be the other most likely and almost never a run to the RB.

If it is not a goaline set and the ball is inside the 5 yard line it will be a fade route to the wr.

There you have it, those 5-6 plays will be 80% of the play calls (being conservative) that Miami will run. They have been working for over 30 years and like a fine wine they only get better with age. Good luck.
