Definitely a take and looks good, but it would be concerning that both our DE commits are <6'2. Seems we're prioritizing speed and explosiveness on the edges

He’s a key player for their defense this year. He’s a solid guy.

Virginia Tech is #115 in scoring defense and #87 in rush defense. He is a part of the problem. I’m not trying to dump on the kid, but the whole “OU wanted him” thing is tired and useless.

Nik Bonitto

Ronnie Perkins

Ogba Okoronkwo

But Kaleb Spencer is supposed to prove that point wrong.

🤦🏾‍♂️ I got time today

Kaleb Spencer shows that it’s perfectly logical to not be 1000% sold on a kid just because OU wants him. OU has plenty of misses, and you listing 4 kids, 2 of them who signed almost 10 cycles ago and ONE IN 2013, with all 3 before the current staff was even at OU that they literally had NOTHING to do with, doesn’t really help your argument. Should we offer every DB that Virginia Tech goes after because of they produced DeAngelo Hall, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Flowers, and Kaleb Farley?

This is just like us liking Jackson Carver because “Iowa wanted him”. I fell for that. It was stupid then and it’s stupid now.

And FTR, as I already mentioned, the kid has some ability. He is an extremely polished pass rusher. But we haven’t hit on those DPR types and they rarely see significant time and usually get recruited over. Not to mention we already have another one on board that probably won’t be an every down guy. We need much better.

Just for the record, you’re stating that we need to do better than gaining momentum for an edge rusher that LSU went all in for?
