I think we'll lose 1 DE…Whether it be Bryant, McConathy, etc…Pure conjecture on my part.

As long as it ain't Blount, Lighfoot, or Lowe!!

Definitely think Bryant is gone. McConathy is a maybe, depending on what the injury is and how he recovers from it.

McConathy played yesterday. He was a bit rusty but he showed some burst off the line.

McConathy might be better suited to gain some more weight and play next year as a lighter 3-tech and keep packing on the weight. I think he could be a disruptive force inside at 290-300lbs. I don't see him beating out guys like Lightfoot (different spot on the defense, I know), Blount, Lower, or Scroggins.

UCF is a P4 school now, Ray Ray hasn’t done anything in his years here. More likely he ends up at FIU/FAU.
gonna join the family legacy and be a RB at FIU like he should've been

He played? Thanks for the heads up, I will have to check out the replay,

Looked like a big white guy playing right end, but by 7pm last night I had already lost count how many Wild Turkeys I poured and how many PBRs I tossed in the bin.

But, I'm almost certain there was a big white kid playing RE

Nice. I had 3 kids hopped up on sugar being absolute terrors. Definitely wish I liquor by the 4th.

mconathy should 100% try to add the weight necessary for the switch. All last year I noticed the same thing yesterday. He takes on blocks and has no counter to disengage. Legitimately cannot disengage from a tackle. He can certainly set an edge but I don’t think that’s the ceiling most had of him here at miami… but that’s what the ceiling has looked like through what I would call a decent sample size at this point.

Lined up last series, maybe two, at right DE. Nice seeing him out there, but hard to evaluate as wasn’t a factor.

Didn’t really get the hype with him last year. Didn’t do much with the snaps that he got. Interested to see how he develops and thought yeah he should get up to 280ish and play a quick 3T spot. Don’t know if he has the frame to get to 300 though.

I don't think he does,looks closer to 240 than 280.

Yeah, I think 300lbs is wishful thinking; 290 might be the sweet spot.

What he showed last year was good hand placement, solid get off, and ability to set the edge. Those are great qualities for a run stopping end. Move that guy inside and his quickness (may not be a strength outside) can cause problems for interior lineman.

Furthermore, moving him inside provides depth as we lose Blay and potentially Moten. A rotation of Simpson, Jones, and Newton (maybe Blount) isn't enough, but McConathy and a DT transfer solidifies that group...I guess.
