Dead Period Rules

Since most posters think other schools are cheating during dead period,

A) Players are allowed to call coaches during dead period
B) Coaches can text and player and say call me.
C) Coaches cannot meet players face to face during the dead period.

Figure this out before you claim we lost players because other schools didn't play by the rules during dead period

A Dead Period is one of the most confused periods. In a nutshell, coaches are not allowed to meet with you on or off campus during this time. So here is what is allowed during a Dead Period…

Calls
Visits to a college, but you may not meet with a coach

The dead period, scheduled to coincide with winter holidays and the annual American Football Coaches Association convention, begins the Monday of the week in which mid-year junior college transfers can begin signing the National Letter of Intent.

Beginning Sept 1st, coaches are allowed 1 call per week (a week is Sun.-Sat.). It doesn't matter whether it is a contact period, a quiet period or a dead period.

There are times when coaches have unlimited calling privileges.

!. If you have scheduled an off campus contact with a recruit, you can call him as many times as you want during that day.

2. If you have scheduled an official visit with a recruit, then there is no limit to the number of calls during the 5 days before the scheduled start of the visit thru the visit.

3. The NLOID is the 1st Wed. in February. Recruits may sign beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. There is a 48 hr. window from 7 a.m. on Mon. thru 7 a.m. on Fri. where there is no limit on the number of calls from coaches to recruit. Keep in mind that Mon. thru Thur. of that week is a dead period.
