in opponent field goals, in the entire nation. 17/17 and next worst is 14/14

But Miami is "lucky" to be undefeated after winning those close games.

I'm not sure what your point is, but if it's to harsh my magical season you'll have to try harder.

The point is Miami's defense is better than the scores indicate because of bad luck with opponents never missing a single FG.

I think we got a bad rap because of all the stupid plays the D was giving up until the redzone. We gave up embarassing running plays to bad teams because we were over pursuing and missing assignments. A few missed FGs weren't going to convince anyone we were for real. Giving up 18 points combined to #13 and #3 on the other hand...

I'd argue a lot of those drives were sustained because of bad soft zones or zone blitzes called by Diaz when the team was playing dominant man coverage. Either way I think a few missed FGs would have changed the narrative a bit if any of those 1 score wins was a 2 score game. Joel Klatt in particular kept harping on the 4 straight 1 possession wins narrative.

But yeah no one wants to believe Miami is real until it's unavoidable.
