just heard some football guy on qam say the top two candidates for oregon are kelly and justin wilcox

if dan lanning gets a HC job, I doubt kirby let's his protege schumann leave for miami and would just promote him to DC


I get that the oregon rumors are back and forth with lanning, just saying


also the more I look into it the more tressel may be a BETTER candidate that schumann
 
I don’t know if Jeremy Pruitt has a show and cause at Tennessee, however he always made offenses bleed during every game at Bama.

I agree with this 95%. Last 5% is the fact that working at Miami and the publicity that gets is huge. I think working at Miami definately helped Jess Simpson Thomas Brown get to the NFL. Past Head Coaches have definitely made the jump thanks to Miami. Leonard might take advantage plus $$$ have been known to change minds. But your right he has turned down a bunch of interviews over the years.

Dan Lanning to leave Georgia to become Oregon head coach

Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning will be named the new head coach at Oregon as soon as Monday, according to a person familiar with the situation. While a contract has not been signed, there is an agreement in place and the deal is expected to be finalized next week.

It isn't. Lanning's side and Oregon's side have both said there has been no offer. They've already changed the lede of the story to something less definitive. It went from done and done to expected to be finalized early next week. So we'll see

Thanks. Hopefully Mario will make the offer to Schumann now before the Lanning deal is done (sounds like it will be a few more days).
 
would be thrilled with Schumann but starting to favor tressel

If we can get tressel and partridge, 2 people with extensive time with narduzzi and tressel even with dantonio I think we would be in good hands

Previous to that was Mount Union head coach for 7 years. Won multiple championships.

Previous to being Mount Union HC, he was there DC for 8 years. won Multiple Championships

He has been a part of 12 NCs at Mount as a player, assistant, and HC.

His pops was HC there for over 25 years.

Played or coached with Matt Campbell, Alex Grinch, Jason Candle, and Nick Srianni (eagles HC)

Our old friend Kul is Toledo’s DL coach so we know that Kehres runs the single gap attacking front that Mario prefers.

Ding ding ding!! He’s one of the best football coaches in the country defensively. I had a couple friends play and coach with him at mount the guy knows his **** and learned from his dad al. Would kill it here. He’s a Midwest guy but as far as the X’s and O’s Fans wouldn’t have much to ***** about he’s a pretty smart football coach
 
Just wild how quickly Lanning has become a HC after being a GA just 6 years ago.

both Lanning and Schumann have been CO-DC at UGA since 2019 with lanning leading the way. Lanning lands a HC job at a top 15 program just 6 years later

I would be thrilled with schumann but I mean honestly, Schumann is probably thinking he could coast at UGA calling the defense another year or two and someone will give him a HC job too. Kind of seems like a hard pull to get him here considering how other programs are desperately trying to hire people from the Saban tree

This. I admire Mario for targeting him but the reality is that Kirby will dangle the DC carrot in 2022 for him to stay. Or, he will tell him the gig is his next year. Onto the next choice, most likely.
