We legit had 5 tfls , 1 sack all game so the secondary virtually had no help. We shut down most of their weapons despite our front 7 not dominating vs an inexperienced oline... We may have given up a play to toney early on and hammond late but with only 4 cbs playing, dline generating no pass rush whatsoever and even Robert knowles in the secondary for an extensive time a lot of their receivers didn’t do sh*t. The dbs played well for the most part outside of the mentioned plays above with one being solely on poor tackling

Agreed, and it's only up from here with them. 2017 season started off shaky with the DB's too and they finished the year in a phenomenal fashion. The same will happen with this group going forward with the addition of Bolden acclimated and getting Ivey back.

Toney gets shut out if we defend that fake punt and that long pass was to Hammond right? So that’s 100 plus yards there on 2 plays with one of them that shouldn’t have happened. Dbs played well the bull**** PI calls still **** me off.

Half of their passing yards, **** near half of their total yards came on those two plays alone

Same story different year, D played well enough to win, offense is just a dumpster fire

Blades literally covered the man to perfection and of course they call it. Florida wr pushes off of Finley and they call us for it smh. Refs were abysmal

It would literally be insane how sick the defensive backfield would be if we landed Campbell, Stevenson, and so forth. Rumph is by far one of the best db coaches in the nation and even I get ****ed at his recruiting lol.
We got some dogs in that secondary. They just guarded an elite receiver group overall with limited depth, only 4 corners played (really 3 but I guess You can add frierson) and only 3 safeties played. Blades b*tched Trevon Grimes and whoever he was guarding and so did trajan bandy. Neither of them gave up much of anything and that’s a **** of showing for both of them. Blades had that penalty late but that pass interference call was straight up bullsh*t

Wonder if Ivey played if he would have been a factor. Gil playing out of position on that one pass you can’t do anything about being depleted back there. Thought he played solid yesterday.

Absolutely, they were literally lockdown corners last night. Safety play was solid too. Hall and Carter need to wrap up more

How good did Frierson look last night? He was good in coverage outside of the one deep ball and he was excellent in run support.
He played great other than that deep ball he gave up, look like the safety should have had help over the top probably though

50-70% of those passing yards can be attributed to three plays: toney breaking a bunch of tackles for his td, frierson getting beat deep, and finley getting beat deep. Besides blades dumbass penalty, Rumph’s unit looked great, especially without Ivey. Trajan Bandy is a star
