DBC’s source on Blake James

Blake needs to go first.....then hire another AD and leave the football season as is until the seasons end. Because I'm telling you guys, I don't see this new TVD offense under Lashlee as the type that will play down to the competition....these kids are on a roll....only game I see potential slippage in is the FSU game because anything can happen in that game on top of the talent level (per recruiting not eye test) which is the closest to being on par with us. VT-GT-Duke offensively will have to outscore us to beat us and I don't see it happening. At this point, we have to rely on the OFF because without a premier DE our DEF is going to struggle.

I'm telling you if our kids win out and Diaz finds himself in Charlotte and wins it......the new AD will allow him to come back but it'll be with the understanding that the first sign of idiotic behavior and he's outta there....Lane in SC on the tarmac type situation

Question, with Blake gone what happens to the chip on Manny’s shoulder? Figured he wanted to win to prove Blake wrong.

What happens now?…lol
Manny still has the chip.... If he wins out, he can spin it as a mutual parting of ways when a new AD was brought in wanted his own guys and fresh blood and maybe he can get another HC gig. That may sound more believable then if he limps to a 2-2 finish. He can show he got fired after an 8-4 season (not your typical firing season) with 2 losses to top 5 schools, a rash of injuries and a first time QB. He is a politician's son, he can spin that but to do that you need to win, 6-6 or less it just looks disingenuous.

It’s looked inevitable since he backstabbed his hand picked coach, hoping save his own ***.

A lot of bad decisions have been made the last two decades re: football ops… With that context I wouldn’t say anything was/is inevitable.

But I agree with you… that was unbecoming of any leadership position - especially director of athletics at a big time university.

Be the same I'd imagine....Manny doesn't want to work for Blake no more than the next coach. Blake is the problem....there would be no Manny w/o Blake. But Manny is in an interesting situation, instead of being in position to secure a raise and extension by way of winning the ACC Championship, due to the poor start the only way he's back in 2022 is if he wins the ACC title. So he'd still essentially be on a game to game hot seat in 2022 IF he wins the conference in 2021.

Why is it taking so long?

You could argue that hiring a coach mid-season creates disruption for the "kids" . . . but the AD? Who cares?
I was just saying I’d been posting Blake was done for a long time , I just thought it would likely be after the season. But there’s been smoke the last couple days it could be happening sooner. That stunt a couple of weeks ago was maybe the straw that broke the camels back. I just haven’t heard it as being a done deal this quick , just rumors.

I won't be happy until I see the announcement.

I'd bet they were giving him the dignity of finding a landing spot before he talked sht before NC St. He's either found one or they're tired of seeing a different sports writer call them out every week.

It actually helped Manny go from the heel to a baby face with a lot of people. Inside and outside of the program. This dude hired you knowing he was connected at the hip with him yet he throws Manny to the wolves for his own preservation. Oh and I called this over a month ago.
