Dawson

After Fletch's success on his first two carries, this game basically turned into the ND opener if Dawson was awake. Just exchange the rain with the wind today and a&m dline not wanting anything to do with our big backs smashing 'em.

We should have seen Fletch all first half and then both him and M. Brown mauling dudes in the second....

These guys are weird AF.. now they gonna say the a gap runs is what works.. no one has issues if something is working.. these guys just don't know how to adjust in game..

FIRST FLETCHER carry in the game chat I was like burn the game plan and run Fletcher down their throat.. they not ready..

EVERY first half touch when Fletcher broke a big gain, they immediately tried to do some malichi ****.. even after halftime in traditional drop back NOT on 3rd down beck had success, we immediately stop and try to do some trick plays.. this was not the game for that and they did not see it at all.. every announcer at halftime was like feed Fletcher more..

I usually like Dawson, this was his worst called game since he been here.. it's like he thought the heisman award was still available and was **** bent on running trick plays to win it for Malachi instead of feeling what works..

Now they will try to throw shade at fans who said try something else than run up middle while they caught 2 losses in middle of season.. it's like there is no nuance wit these guys
💯
They were on skates up the middle yet Dawson kept trying to get cute and run around the edge w Toney etc…

This game should have had Fletcher and brown w 35+ carries between the tackles just sledgehammering them and then hitting them w PA

We
Got the dub but made it harder due to Shannon not recognizing we could just manhandle them

I'm in Dawson's corner. I get frustrated in this game, like you have first in goal and then the next drive in the red zone, like 9 straight plays and no touches for Fletch.

Like I really didn't understand at that point in the game, like first was a draw option for Toney, then was a Beck throw, then a Beck abort run on the first and goal plays. Like I would have rammed Fletch for three straight runs... Then the next drive after the pick.

Then the last drive, with the Toney run TD, like you have to run the ball to the 1, get first and goal and run the clock out with them having no time outs. That almost cost us the game there. You can't run that in for a TD with nearly 2 minutes left on the clock up only 7. Bad Football play there. Regardless how bad the kicker was, you have to play downing the ball at the 1. Then run the last time off the clock with Fletch three times up the middle, and kick the FG at the 1 from the hash you want with no time on the clock. I get the TD, but that wasn't smart at that point in the game.

In the first half, they were all out blitzing, and the designed plays were reads. Like, fuggin react by having a designed out quick play for a blitz. The last drive in the first half, we finally converted on a 3rd down because of THAT. Like it took a bit for you to make that adjustment. You can't wait to the second half to make adjustments, that will bit you in the ***. They came out in the 3rd Q first drive with EXACTLY that, quick out reads or quick runs in the blitz gaps.

But I'm still in his corner. I don't want to scrap it and start over. But those in particular I was like, dammit man.

You know just looking at the stats, at the end of the day Fletcher had 17 carries, and Beck only had 20 passing attempts.

Dawson absolutely got OVER Toney focused too early and didn't use him specifcally as a decoy nearly enough given everyone in the world knows how much we want to use him. All those early plays entirely force fed to Toney - NONE ended up just using him as a decoy basically. Ultimately Dawson got it right at the end to just feed Fletcher when it was working. But we barely had any offensive plays this game. A&M ultimately is a good defense. However Ohio St is a better defense. They have far better DBs and LBs.

Again I wont really be worried about losing a bunch of 1v1 PassPro reps against Ohio St. But we need a heavy dose of Pringle+Fletcher, and we NEED other WRs to step the **** up and for Beck to not look so ******* horrible on 3rd down. It can't JUST be the Toney show through the air. Ohio St is going to have Caleb Downs all over Toney, I'm sure.

Use Pistol with Fletcher. Run play action. We need to hit crossers and deep digs to WRs not named Toney.

We scored 3 points up until last drive, that game plan was trash. And I like Dawson.. The coaches cant see whats working and adapt mid game it seems, they just stick to what they thought pre game and run it regardless if Fletcher breaks it, the next play will be Malicat read option to our TE, lmaoo. or Reverse malicat pass, lol.. MAN WTF were we doing?!

Fletcher breaks a run, get him out of RB position and put Malachi at RB and run it with him, lol.. We playing Concepcion and at NCST he ran the polecat play, hey lets do that too with Malachi.. Just goofy play calling..

Fletcher got every carry but 1 so when exactly did you want Fletcher out of the game?

I wanted way more running plays.

But to the greater point, we did not play Brown and Pringle only got one carry and one play in the game. Is that Mario's plan for the rest of the playoff? Use Fletcher only? If he was too conservative to allow Pringle to play today, is he going to use him next game against Ohio State?

This didnt make sense to me. Brown's skillset was perfect for today's game. Both he and Pringle should have gotten some touches.

Dawson overthinks. There’s no reason for Fletcher to not get a couple of carries inside the 5 yard line.

Some better play calling and we win the game 24-3.

Exactly. I was saying I hope that didn't cost us the game. I was ****ed at that point in the game. ****ED

The announcers and the analyst were dumb founded today by Dawson but maybe Dawson is the smartest person in the room.

Coming out of halftime, we had a couple throws with Beck on early down, where they dont bring out blitz package and normal drop back pass for Beck.. I wonder how many of those situations we put Beck in like that.. Got great results and it felt like we never did it again the rest of half.. Frustrating gameplan..
1st play out of half was a pass, then 2nd play we went no huddle. Didn’t give them time to adjust or get the call from the sideline.

The success rides on Dawson and Beck. Defense is legit. OL can handle business most of the time. RBs/WRs are legit.
