Dawson is what prevented us from a title. We probably need a new OC

There are four quarters in a game. You can’t point to one half and call that “showing up.” Our offense is wildly inconsistent and that’s the issue. It’s always flashes here and there, never sustained, never really clicking. The only time this offense consistently looked good under Dawson was with Cam Ward, and Cam Ward is a unicorn. Guys like that don’t come around often. You can’t build an offense around hoping for another one of those. I’m not saying Dawson sucks, but he’s just inconsistent. And at this level, inconsistency ain’t good enough.

We had leverage all game on the edges and he never did until the Fletcher run and then the Toney run. I have defended Dawson but who the **** is in the booth not screaming run outside.
We have that game away outside of ST which were daggers.
 
We knew the WR position was going to going to be problem coming into the season. We knew Toney would be good but we got lucky that he's a ******* generational talent. Daniels was a solid possession vet that we thought he was. We needed #1 to play up to his potential and he never did. Marian was better than we thought but still not someone who strikes fear in the defense. We need better outside guys to go with Toney.

Real talk we had one guy in the passing game. CJ Daniels could not consistently get separation and struggled 2nd half of the year. Marion is a returner who we used as a go to guy in a lot of key situations when defenses were keying in on Toney.

We need legitimate downfield threats in the passing game to open up the field for Toney. We did not even have reliable TE play this year.

The design on the Toney TD was there, and on the Fletcher TD with the fake pitch to Toney in motion.


Dawson’s fault is his lack of feel at times and inability to adjust early when things aren’t going his way. But after the first half, I have no complaints with the game he called

That Bauman punt was a gut punch. It felt like the team went in at halftime and decided they were gonna go win this game and then lazy, soft *** 87 decided not to touch a guy running free on a punt completely changed everything.

Took him wayyyyyyy too long to adjust.

We basically wasted the entire 1st half of the game.

We won the 2nd half 21 - 10 in offense vs defense. That 10 point swing in the special teams did us in.

We definitely need a new OC.

Time and again he wastes plays and possessions with his unimaginative, conservative bull****.

We went from not being able to move the ball on Ole Miss, OSU and Indiana to lighting them up and having them on skates. Just because he got in his bag a little bit.

He doesn't develop QBs and he doesn't consistently call good games. It's time for us to mutually part ways.
 
I do want to see Dawson with actual playmaking outside WRs. Daniels and Marion were smacked around tonight.
