Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

Better be careful.. State media won’t be happy with us criticizing a coach. Bad for the image.

But hey, at least we ran inside zone to other gaps last game!

People will go blue in the face for no reason other than it’s like a personal attack to say our run game isn’t good…no idea why. It’s really not personal.

The run game has to be more explosive and more diverse, or this team will not beat another elite team all year long. Simple as that.

I might be in the minority here but wouldn't mind seeing Pringle get some touches vs SMU. The way he ran against Stanford just looked different than the other backs.
Guys we're 6 - 1 , I know some offensive changes need to be made but let's not forget to enjoy being a top ten team a little because this team has definitely earned that ranking so far.

I agree. You can see the pop

Good stuff honestly. I don’t think most (sane) people have an issue with the overall philosophy. It’s a good plan.

We run this offense like Emory Williams is the QB with way too much protection for the run game and a QB of Becks caliber. Or I should say the point of paying millions for a starting QB. We coulda just rolled with Emory and spent the money elsewhere.

Not to get bogged down on Emory/Beck but it’s just bizarre to watch us get so overly cautious and protective when guys like CJ and Toney have stepped in and we have talent on offense.
And Emory attempted 1 pass in the 5 minutes he played last week... Every other snap down the field was a handoff....

I don't care what anyone says, we do not have the best OL in the country

Definitely not run blocking, no.

We are in the 90s in yards before contact. No, it's not the scheme, because we were way better there the last 2 years. Yes, teams had film on us prior to Louisville, contrary to popular belief.

But we haven't given up a single pressure on a non-blitz all year. That's insane (assuming it's true, I did read that).

We have a very, very, very, very good pass blocking line. I'd argue the best in the country, if you want to push back, fine. It's in the Top 5.

We absolutely do not have a Top 5 run push OL.

So maybe throw it a bit more?

Here are the passing play percentages for Dawson here:

2023 - 46th
2024 - 23rd
2025 - 88th

You cannot convince me this is an accident. I will say, this stat obviously isn't perfect, because it's just pure volume, so if you're winning, you're probably going to throw less.

But 23rd to 88th is a **** of a drop. You cannot convince me this is not by design from the staff to protect the defense. I've been saying it for weeks and I'm fully convinced it's true. They believe they have a national championship worthy defense (and I agree with them), and they're going to do everything they can to lean into that unit, which includes slowing the offense down, running the ball more, maximizing time of possession so when the defense is on the field, you can have Bain and crew at 100% stamina to wreck ****.
