Woodiel too new to blame IMO. Firsthand like a few other offensive players we need to improve in concepting how we plan on using these guys in one on ones. This is the 2nd player we failed on offensively selling in the "scheme" Hate away haha
1murhurricane I take what you are saying as true. One question for context...is this a new issue? I ask because we didn't have any issues recruiting TE's last year and we already have one in this year.

I'm not worried about missing out on a TE..I don't think it'll hurt our team that much.

But it's concerning to keep missing out on recruits that we go all out for..especially to teams who are not in that elite category ( I can understand Bama, Clemson, UGA, Ohio State).

Oklahoma is good but Venables is more unproven as a head coach than Mario is.
In a vacuum spot on although, if we want to get to elite status we need to stack chips and this was such an opportunity. Overall this one hurt because we were told we had a good shot and landing this kid would have given us great momentum but instead we have stalled out.

For me, below Top 10 would be subpar. Below Top 20 would be atrocious and unacceptable. Anything 6 or better is exceeding expectations.

Here is the list of schools who have signed Top 10 classes in each of the last 3 cycles:

Alabama
Georgia
Ohio State
Oklahoma

That’s it. 4 schools. In the whole country. So I think we need to be a little realistic here. I don’t disagree with you entirely, but Mario brought in the 7th ranked class last year. You say anything less than 10 is subpar. If it’s 11th or 12th, somewhere around there and we win some games and he gets back into the Top 10 again in 2025, that’s fantastic. Only the elite of the elite of the elite stack Top 10 classes on top of each other year after year. Miami is not anywhere near those 4 programs at the moment. I think Top 10 is in the cards this year, but if it narrowly misses, its not a catastrophe.

Remember when a group of us said Cristobal was making a terrible decision hiring a pro style OC instead of sticking with a spread offense that clearly worked better for TVD, and then we got lectured by other posters who said it was delusional to think we knew what offense worked better for UM than a coach making 8 million per year? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Not that I don't believe you, but post receipts.... cuz maybe I don't believe you.

Mario has been sold as an elite recruiter and we know he isn’t a Gameday coach. There is no pass on him not landing a top 10 class.

I respectfully request that we lock this thread.

Word is he's spending 5 days a week at a bar on Campus Corner, he's missing mandatory meetings and he's over 300+. Their projected starter at TE played LB last year so they could probably use this kid next year.

Didn’t he reclassify? Should still be in HS. Immaturity can be overcome. Go get him.

Also, who’s the “word” from? Not breaking your balls, just wondering if this is butthurt sooner fans.

I just looked and plenty of OU fans think he was kicked off the team basically. They think they had one of worst TE rooms in country, and he didn't play a snap, which is a good indicator given he was a 5star. Say Locker room cancer, missed meetings, gained **** load of weight.
