Davon Mitchell 5* TE from Los Alamitos, CA Hits the Portal after Reclassifiying

Much bigger fish to fry than Davon Mitchell. We have an excellent group of TE's on our team. What we need DESPERATELY is a few inside defensive tackles that can dominate the line of scrimmage and control the game. That is what UM has been lacking for many years. That should be the priority in recruiting and our 5-7 season last year is certainly not helping us recruit these guys.

There’s been a vibe shift from the people I trust lol… I will now flip my projection to OU. I am sad

If we lose Mitchell to OU and Odom to Bama, then it looks like Tayvion Galloway would be the backup plan since he's supposed to visit Miami later this month.

Galloway was pushed out of LSU's class after they landed a better TE prospect in high 4* and Top 100 overall recruit Trey'Dez Green. After decommitting from LSU, Galloway has taken official visits to Purdue, UCF, and Syracuse. Needless to say, that's not big boy competition. And he's an Ohio kid who isn't drawing interest from Ohio State. Seeing which programs are actively pursuing a player is always a better indicator than just lazily looking at an offer list.

Sure we have bigger issues to address than TE, but it would not be a good look if we miss on the top targets in Mitchell and Odom. Stockpiling as much Top 100 overall talent as possible is imperative to building a top program and we need as much elite offensive talent as we can get, especially considering the lingering concerns at QB and WR.

We could miss all of our top targets - #1 guy individually at each position - with the exception of Riley. Ahfua is the top guard I assume. We missed at OT and Center. We missed at slot WR. We missed at QB.

WR, CB, Safety, LB, DE and DT are still possible though we missed on Scott.

Ehhhhh the last Oklahoma TE I can think of in the league was a converted QB named Blake or some ****, unless I'm just straight up forgetting anyone not named Jermaine Gresham. Not a good long term move for a tight end to waste years on.

Live and learn though, if thats the choice I guess haha

Edit to not waste pages/posts: thank you hollyhood, I knew my dumbass was bound to forget someone 😂
