we have a culture of physicality and toughness ... god bless mc

it was a punch line at one point ... but we have evidence that our program is tough and physical ... matter of fact alot of evidence

It was only a punchline for ******* morons. Go talk to any football coach on the planet and slip into conversation, "I like this team, but they might be too tough and physical" and see how quickly you get backhanded across your teeth.

Dumbest **** ever. Clowning a football coach and team for wanting to be aggressive and physically dominant.

When your best player is a 5-11, 193-pound sophomore receiver who willingly blocks like a pit bull, it sends a message to everybody in the program

surprised he didnt mention how McCoy and Buchannon, both hurt with different injuries that play against their specific position, actually on their own in games changes positions on certain plays to compensate for this.

not directed by the coaches, backing each other up, and that cross-training people question here at times paid off... plus the room leadership itself to make that decision and understand even the physics of their positions

a quarter to remember if we win the natty... that drive....

5 years ago this team walks into Clemson with many asking the question "Is the U back?". Then they leave the stadium embarrassed and being punked by every media pundit across the nation. I was at the ACC championship and I am not sure I have ever been that depressed about Miami football sans the Fiesta bowl.

But what I witnessed on Saturday night was team that is as physically and mentally tough as any Miami team I have ever witnessed. They were down best three corners against probably the most talented WR set in ACC. Their best player is banged up. Dude went in the tent for 5 minutes, sprinted out on the field, made a catch on 4th and 2 and got lit up. He jumped right back up and said let's go! We saw two offensive lineman go down and gut it out and go back in when no one thought that was possible. We saw our best DE go down and freshman step up and play big time. We saw a freshman CB hold up big time early in the game. We completely shut down a run game in which we hear all week their run game had turned the corner and they would be a problem. That is what culture is all about. And I am not saying they win the ship this year. But find me another team this physically and mentally tough. I don't think you will.

Also, I will go on record as saying you don't run the ball on this team. You saw a Clemson team that has lived on running the ball for a decade just give up after half a quarter. We have a run scheme built by a mad man. He looks across that field and dares anyone to try and run. If you want to beat this Miami team, you better be ready to outscore them through the air. Have fun not getting your QB killed. Carr you better be ready.

it was a punch line to many, many subscribers and posters to CIS. The first two years that Mario was here, there were MANY on this board mocking tuff and fyzical. Many.

What makes it even more impressive is that in this day and age of NIL, future earnings, etc we have brought back the concept of the Miami brotherhood full circle.

There are a lot of teams that can pay and get elite talent. But we have seen a few already have some issues with spending on the wrong guys, not missing on just a few guys with regards to fit because every school has that, but missing on over half or maybe it’s more of the culture creating poor fits. But we have potential high round draft picks playing hurt, doing things that some superstars would never do, and when kids are scoring or making big plays you see genuine joy from teammates. It was one thing I drove home when coaching. Mudita - look it up if you never heard of it.

When your program achieves this concept as well as player led teams you become a team no one wants to play.
