From ND On3 Mod
- I just finished an all-encompassing interview with Chicago St. Patrick four-star DL David Folorunsho, Rivals' No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2027 class. I'll have a complete report posted on his recruitment this evening, but I wanted to give you guys the rundown before I get to writing it.
Folorunsho did not name an outright leader, even though
he told Steve Wiltfong earlier this week that Miami is at the top of his list. I asked Folorunsho to clarify, and he said there is a group of schools at the top of his recruitment. He only chose to recognize Notre Dame and Miami as those programs. They are the two schools he's certain he's officially visiting, with his return trip to South Bend remaining locked in for the weekend of June 12.
So what does that mean for Texas Tech? Well, Folorunsho didn't really talk about it despite me asking about the Red Raiders. His agency represents Felix Ojo and Jalen Brewster — so I gather that's where the latest buzz is coming from there.
Could Texas Tech end up winning this recruitment? Absolutely. Do I think it has the lead because of the connections to Ojo and Brewster? I don't. I think it comes down to Notre Dame and Miami unless Texas Tech makes some sort of ginormous offer that he can't possibly refuse.
As for the NIL portion of his recruitment, Folorunsho told me he has "numbers" from every school, that Notre Dame is competitive and he is comfortable with the offer the Irish have made. Don't misconstrue my reporting for this being an "NIL recruitment." NIL isn't the boogeyman. It's legal and a major part of college football. Notre Dame pays players generously. And the Irish are right there in Folorunsho's recruitment.
