David Feely Expected to be hired as SC Coach

Has this week not taught us anything? First it was Fedora, then that faded. Then, Major was expected to be the next OC and that has now moved to the background. Can we actually wait until Manny announces anything before freaking out? None of us have any clue what's really going on and clearly Manny is doing a good job of either sending out smoke screens or controlling the leaks. We know Manny isn't messing around so let's just let the man do his work. 5 days until the dead period ends and I'm sure he will have the everything in place by then. ****, we'll likely hear a lot more on Tuesday after the NC game.
Great post! People here must have forgotten “Gruden to Miami, Done deal”. That was the biggest joke ever. You get the process, it’s not based on message board banter! If someone posted: "Popeye next DC at UM" someone here would believe it!

Great post! But I wonder if Nick and Urban check the Bama and O$U message boards before they make a hire???

This would be a massive disappointment coming from Hester. You don't need to be intimately familiar with strength and conditioning principles to understand that Hester was a lot more analytical than this guy. I believe in modeling your program based on cutting-edge science and functional strength, not the rah-rah bro workouts that most of the frauds in this industry adhere to. Feeley appears to be closer to the latter.

Also, why tf do we keep hiring Temple retreads? If these are truly the best candidates we can hire then we either aren't opening the coffers wide enough or our school has a LOT less cache than many here think it does.

It’s troubling that Collins didn’t think this guy was worthy enough to be at GT.

You’re making an assumption that Collins didn’t want him. Maybe Feely didn’t want to go to GT or doesn’t like Atlanta and told Collins he didn’t want to go.

After reading through this thread there's 3 types of posts. Those wondering how this is the best we can & *****ing about it. Those blindly defending the hire no matter what & *****ing about those who question the hire. Or Those telling both groups THEY don't know anything about strength & conditioning.

After reading his bio, he certainly seems like a reach. Its really hard to say he's better than a Temple level s&c coach until we see what he does with the team. And if that mongoloid Temple fan reads this, "Temple level" is not Miami level. Period. We've hired your temple level **** before & seen it first hand. THATS how we know.

Manny has made two hires. He's poached his DC from Louisiana Tech & his s&c coach from Temple. Lets just hope the offensive staff has a little more on their resume. This up & comer, conference usa **** is getting a little ridiculous. Manny CAN do better than that.
Yeah, not trying to freak-out or overreact but these potential hires are starting to feel a little like Richt's in the sense that these guys don't have much experience and are potential yes men

So you wanted to be Louisiana Tech strong? Most posters here don't know **** about S&C but after hearing the Louisiana Tech guy was a crazy red neck they got a hard on for some reason
I can't believe I am saying this after all the nutty things this poster has posted but I agree with this completely . To act like we as fans know so much about S&C coaches is silly af. Who knows if this is a good hire or not . Temple for sure has put their best teams out there over the last 5 years or so but who knows if that has much to do with the S&C or not . I guess the only way to know would to be talking to Temple fans but its not like UM fan has paid close enough attention to Temple to have any idea so anyone getting excited or mad about this asinine .

S&C doesn't mean anything without coaching. Any one S&C won't make a HUGE difference, at the end of the day, on the margin over any other.

Lifting is not difficult. Proper conditioning is more difficult, but still relatively straightforward.

Nutrition, however, is significantly more important than both.

I believe Bellamy is still on staff, which is good news.
It is? I see a bunch of fat, slow OL and DL on the team...

You’re right — it is an assumption — but I doubt a guy would turn down a pay raise and a chance to advance his career.
The first thing Manny did at Temple was promote this guy to assistant AD and gave him a raise, supposedly that's why he stayed and obviously Manny sees something in him. That said, there are gems in small places but we should be aiming to see something much more proven at Miami than Temple. I can kinda excuse the LT DC because Manny groomed him, he's called plays for 4 years and we know Manny will be heavily involved.
However, Manny's not an offensive mind or strength guy, so we have to hit home runs there.

Don’t hire anyone that would make it easy to negative recruit against. We need a top notch sc program. Can’t go new guy or up and comer on this at all. Need a dude with proven Results or we’ll get swallowed on the recruiting trail and maybe even on the field if we don’t develop guys.

I know who hasn’t been hired and isn’t coming.

Obviously you know who hasn’t been hired....since nobody had been hired!
But I wonder how you know who isn’t coming?

FYI I have no idea but see no point in criticizing until there actually something official to criticize...then I’m all in.

all of those are rumors

we weren't "supposed" to get anyone

you sound like a little kid getting your hopes up

Everything is a rumor until it ain’t, but people that cover this team have invested their time writing articles about both.
But your right in the fact I should never get my hopes up for anything positive to happen for this football team. To hear MD talk, his phone is blowing up with people wanting this job, since no one has been hired I’m just going to assume it may have been Patrick Nix and the like.

GT actually paid less than every reported AAC school for their S&C coach. Manny gave Feeley a promotion when he got hired at Temple so it’s not crazy to think Feeley was actually gonna get paid more at Temple then GT

I have heard it’s Gruden and they’re going to announce it as soon as Tyrique puts on that Miami hat today.

Let me get this straight, a bunch of people on a message board who have no idea how any of these S&C coaches work are complaining or happy about the picking of a S&C coach that they have no idea how that person works?
