David Feely Expected to be hired as SC Coach

Nooooo. NO one is ever going to confused Prince for a good fighter. It’s not about what you can do. It’s about what you can do AGAINST who. You can have speed, power, etc but if you can’t do it against good competition, it doesn’t matter. Prince never shows up on anyone top list. Maybe in the UK, but all time? Never. I never said I made things up to keep ppl on their toes. I said I throws things out to gauge what you know. Mean only facts or things a true fan would know not made up crap. That’s stupid. And I said Masayuki Ito. He’s not on anyone’s radar yet. You WISH what I said was bs. You’re a googler type so, I get it.

A little off topic, but I have to reply. I watched him fight.

He wasn't an elite fighter. He was beaten badly by two of the best in the era. Ernie Shavers had a reputation for being a ridiculously hard hitter, (Muhammad Ali said Shavers was the hardest hitter he ever faced), but being a good hitter does not mean you are a good fighter.

Mike Tyson was a fearsome heavyweight with terrific hitting power. But when he got involved with bad promoters, bad lifestyle, and bad trainers, it caught up to him ala Buster Douglas.

What the Prince was good at was promoting fights and playing the bad guy. That made him way more money than his skills as a boxer. He had some of the most ridiculous entrances I've ever seen.

We can play the 'what if' guessing game forever.

What if he concentrated on his technique? What if he kept quality people around him?

Hes not on my Top 25 of all time. I'm not even sure hes in my Top 50.

You dunce, he JUST became the champ when he upset Diaz. You didn’t even know about him until you googled him. Plus let me put it into prospective, is Naseem getting into the hall of fame? No. Period. Because he’s such a great fighter right? Plus Canelo’s main problem is is endurance. He has no wind after 6 rounds. But you know so much. You can’t even tell the difference between talent and a good fighter. But you know so much. Dude please. You don’t know jack. You’ll read an article and write exactly what answers article says.

Ya that is false. I know about him because he is a fvking champ lmao. I didn't need to google his name. If I am naming dudes like Ryan Garcia you don't think I know about current champions??
No Naz isn't getting into the HOF. HOF is for LEGENDS not good fighters. He is a good fighter.

Well thank god his issue is something that is actually able to be fixed. You can't fix power, speed, chin or reflexes, but cardio is something you can fix. Also canelo has been working on his endurance and he looked a lot better in his last fight than ever before regarding endurance.

You are the one that doesn't know jack. You admitted you couldn't figure out that Canelo was a good fighter. All you do is spew BS and lies and pat yourself on the back.

You have been thoroughly owned in every piece of this debate and your only rebuttal is "you googled your answers". Not only did I not do that, but you should start fact checking your stats next time you debate someone so you don't get embarrassed again.

Who’s embarrassed? You haven’t proved a **** thing. You’ve been arguing that Prince was a good fighter. That’s ALL I needed to know. Legends? That’s why Toney WILL get into the HOF and not Prince. Go to sleep sir.

Do you even read what you porst? You admitted that Naz beat 2 good fighters. He didn't just beat them he DEMOLISHED them. I never said Toney was not a great fighter. In fact I said the opposite. You are the one that said he was a ****** who didn't train properly.

I admit that I do not have a 300 page book analyzing SC coaches, but I am troubled that we are considering a guy who seems to have floated along at very average programs. I would prefer a coach who either was a number 2 guy at a top 5 program or a young guy who has steadily risen from lower tier teams to better ones in a short time. This guy is neither. The only thing that looks promising is he has worked in So Florida before and may have some local connections.

S&C coach is the most important hire a staff can make. They spend the most amount of time with the kids. This is a very underwhelming hire, what's the point of getting rid of Felder when you're just replacing him with a guy who's experience is just as bad

What's obvious to me, coach diaz felt he had to get rid of the richt guys, the whole offensive staff were tied to coach richt, including coach gus, so coach diaz didnt want to deal with coaches posdibly being ****ed off because they mostly know why coach richt retired, also he saw first hand the relationships between the offensive coaches and the offensive players and gus, those guys didnt have the positive energy that coach diaz wants around the program, so ultimately that's a leadership issue, which is why coach diaz made the moves that he did. No way he was going to keep coach dugans after the jeff thomas incident, it basically became a situation where it was the offensive coaches vs the offensive players, no trust was built up, with the exception of coach hartley, but at the end of the day, coach diaz has to hire his guys and roll with that win lose or draw.

If he does hire this temple guy itll have more to do with his attitude and energy.

I don't know jack **** about strength and conditioning but this feels underwhelming

That's because you guys act like Miami is preparing a contract for a strength guy that's in the top 50 as far as pay. It's not happening. You get what you can afford. You want the school to break bank for oc, wr, rb coaches. Cant get all the best. We aren't bama and clemson

Noooo, you just don’t seem to understand and are undervaluing the importance of a good S&C coaching staff. They develop the players to be able to do those things. I’d thise players are fat slow and weak, it doesn’t matter what scheme or what kind of ability they have(always exceptions) if they can’t hang. Yes, they coaches drill the players sure, but this coaches primary goal isn’t to physically develop players at that point, that’s the S&C’a job. It’s why players typically don’t get faster or stronger in season. That’s done in the preseason. Another way to look at it is take James Toney. Probably one of the most naturally gifted fighters of the modern era. He was born to box. He can outbox lesser opponents and even better ones on sheer ability alone. However, later on in his career his fat *** was never in shape. Had he been, he’d be a household name. So yes, they have a high impact on the outcome of games.

LoL, leave "lights out" outta this, that's how he got that nickname, those were the times he would sneak in the refrigerator.

S&C doesn't mean anything without coaching. Any one S&C won't make a HUGE difference, at the end of the day, on the margin over any other.

Lifting is not difficult. Proper conditioning is more difficult, but still relatively straightforward.

Nutrition, however, is significantly more important than both.

I believe Bellamy is still on staff, which is good news.
Nearly everything in this post is wrong or misleading.

I was wondering when you were going to stalk me today. Do you Following boxing? It’s one of my favorite sports. Best fight I ever saw was Floyd beat the pants off Diego Corrales (rip) while Diego came into the fight 20 lbs heavier. Any aside form James Toney being one of my favorite fighters, Freddie Roach even said James was the most naturally gifted fighter he ever saw. Like, before you jump in please know what you’re talking about. You do know James at one point in his career was in the same weight class as Floyd Mayweather right? James also fought, Roy Jones, and John Ruiz(which he had look silly). Over his career, James had to keep going up in weight because he couldn’t keep in shape. It wasn’t towards the end of his career, it was a gradual process which culminated into him being a heavyweight. His height? You know Mike Tyson wasn’t much taller right? Like...do you know anything about boxing or you still upset about the previous night and thought this might be your chance?

One of my favorite parts about that mayweather fight was how Diego's pops stopped the fight, especially t h e part where Diego came over to em and how he waved em off. But besides that knock down at the beginning of the fight because that ref earl morton was in over his head, that beatdown floyd put on gatti was worst. You even heard Raphael Garcia hollering, "stop the fight, stop the fight". But probably my favorite toney fight was when he fought roy jones, that fight was comical, when toney knocked down mocking roy, and than when toney caught roy with that awkard kind of round house punch, than roy stood their looking, come on with that lucky ****, even richard steele was laughing, lol. I always wanted to see james toney fight bernard hopkins tho.

Correct me if I'm wrong (its often).

Doesn't Hester have an established business in NOLA? Physical building, clientele, etc?

And people thought he was going to walk away from that amd come to Miami for anything less than a king's ransom?

It could be a case of not turning Miami down, but rather "I'm not moving my whole life."

Choices, choices.

IF true, think through that a moment.

I literally know nothing about S&C but I will say I’m 99% sure this guy will at least show up at 5am if his players ask him to. Unlike that fat fùck Felder.

He’s a Jersey guy which mans he’s got a level of confidence similar to Miami guys. He seems like he kind of guy that will give 0 fùcks about what you want and will push you to your limits.

Someone said that we probably don’t have the budget to go after a big time candidate and that we’d rather spend it on an offensive staff. This sounds about right and probably why we went after this guy. Let’s hope he bucks the trend of lazy S&C coaches previously hired by the program.

This is exactly it. I didn't realize his NFL development center was still up and running. I figured he stopped that after he got hired by La Tech. I am sure he gets paid more training NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL players and developing guys for the combine pays more than anythiing we can throw at him.

Please start a boxing thread. This board has turned to ish. Somehow people are arguing about boxing in a thread about who Miami might hire as it's S&C Coach. Can't make this ish up.

Though I still have trust in CMD, it's somewhat difficult for me to accept the fact that Geoff Collins decided not to hire Feely at GT: he chose instead to hire the strength coach from Buffalo. A great hire btw..

https://buffalonews.com/2018/12/27/georgia-tech-football-lewis-caralla-ub-strength-coach/

One of the first things Manny did was promote Feeley to assistant athletics director and I’m assuming he got a raise was that. So he was retained before Geoff hired Lewis.
