2027 David "DJ" Jacobs 5* DE from Roswell, GA (Blessed Trinity Catholic) Commits to OSU

I saw him at the ND game in the recruiting section. I did not know who he was back then but he was the most physically imposing recruit there. I knew he had to be a stud. He was definitely enjoying the game and atmosphere.

Got a feeling pops is our biggest advocate working with Mario to navigate this recruitment and is lulling O$U to sleep right before a vicious Mario upper cut hits them in the face.

DJ is supposedly a nice kid. He is a absolute beast on the field. Jalen Brewster is probably the only player I want more than him right now. The biggest issue with either one of those if we flip either, someone is going to come in with more money. Count on that. Assuming we get M. Mathews, at least with him we have being home on our side to help keep him. These top 5 kids get crazy offers late in the process. It already happened with his commit announcement. Without question, he is my #1 DE.

FOMO. I don’t hate that mentality. If his brother gets sold on us could help down the road.

With a father that doesn’t appear to be a clout chaser and appears to have integrity I don’t worry as much about DJ. I don’t believe the biggest bag is their goal. I also don’t get that vibe with Brewster either. Both guys know they can get money anywhere they go. It’s about development and support. I don’t see game playing with either.

Hopefully we only have one more year of transfer QB money to pay out, maybe even zero after Mensah (doubtful). That would free up a ton of budget.
