Dave Clawson

On the broadcast didn't they make a note to mention he wants old teams where he makes young guys redshirt and the “process” he adheres to ignores 4/5 stars to go get the right 3 star guys? Would be one **** of a mentality change coming to miami for him
The broadcasters also call every ******* play a "zone read" or RPO and love to say "he called his own number" which makes no sense but aye listen to those broadcasters.

Clawson should be on the short list with Hafley and Jay Norvell once the inevitable NO's come from the bigger names.

Not sure what the narrative of the South Florida “fit” even means. Does it have to be someone flashy? I think it’s a non issue. Bring me a southern savage or a competent coach like Clawson. The only “fit” we need is someone who is ******* competent and knows how to develop players and field a tough, physical, disciplined team. Manny Diaz, by his slurpers, was considered a perfect fit at some point because he is from the city, knows the “culture”, etc…all a bunch of bull****. I don’t give a **** about that. And you’re right…some of our best coaches weren’t considered a culture fit at all, but they were very competent and fielded tough and aggressive teams. Just give me a competent head coach for once, Jesus Christ.
I agree, as initially pointed out, that fit isn't necessarily a dispositive indicator of success. But, there are many coaches and spouses that did not and would not enjoy the South Florida vibe. If you don't think the AD needs to recruit the spouse (indirectly) in addition to the HC then you are kidding yourself. Some families prefer a more rural laid back environment. Others don't give a crap and just want to be shown the money.

Just look at Richt, he bolted back to Athens immediately after quitting.

I mean, I think that the 4/5 stars ignore Wake and not the other way around.

Given all the limitations of that program, I think no one does more with less than Clawson. I would interview him if I’m UM.
Wake is an institution for the rare 4/5 star like Duke/Stanford.

Just not a great fit culturally overall.
