No it's not. Has something to do with a certain someone in his family close to him. Hence his mother was killed in a drive-by last year.

The question is why does he have to leave? Is the gang unable to get to him now but if he stays in Coral Gables they will. It makes no sense

I understand that he had troubles with a gang/family members but this picture that everyone keeps talking about makes it look like their still after him. If that's the case why haven't they gotten him? he's right there in Miami Central if they wanted to get him

Well fortunately for us we will only face two times in his career. Doubt he plays much next year so really just his jr year cause we know he can't come down for the road games in Miami.

Good thing he's been invisible for the past few years. His cloak of invisibility expires the minute he signs his NLOI. I wonder how his QB was able to see him on the field the last couple years.

Rivals just came out with that article a couple weeks ago talking about how Phillips is living with Ms. Cook. If his life was in immediate danger, then why in the world would the family let Rivals put that article out and make that information public?

The main thing is, is that his life is in jeopardy at any given time because of that certain someone in his family.

His mother wasn't just killed by accident a year ago. God bless her.

As far as I know, he's not out gangbanging his own self.

Do I know if it's a better environment for him around Betty? Idk, I never met Betty or know what the environment he lives in at their home.

As for Phillips and getting away. His family and people close to him have told him that.

I mean I don't involve myself with gangs or ever been affiliated but I'm telling you what's coming from the horses mouths closest to him.

Sometimes what gangs do, they target your family. It's not rocket science.

Nowhere did I say they can't follow him.

Hey sometimes some of the guys we got in the 80's and 90's were actually really caught up in that, and they came to the Gables cause they felt safe and that it was a different place.

It is what it is. I'm just saying what is. If getting out of Miami or out of the state or whatever it may be, does in fact help then good for him.

Were beating a dead horse. He's not coming.



If it's worth anything, he was close to committing to Miami in the summer of 2013.

fwiw it's only about cash. cook and "his sweet old lady HANDLER" got paid and continue to get paid in tallahassee. if i was broke and could get cash while playing ball, i would too. go north young man. it's ALL about the dollars.

We paid kids for a long, long, long….. time. We don't FOR NOW. Most Everyone else does a better job of feeding their kids. Some do it better than others. I don't begrudge a kid for insuring that he has enough cash in his pocket to enjoy the college experience. Also, by going to a school that has an organised way of distributing cash, you play with a higher caliber of other players and coaches. The kid will eat well, win and have fun. I'd never, if i was in a similar situation, take less than I was worth. Good for him….. NOW GTFO of Miami and break a leg.

I enjoy the comedy, but also the better to play away due to family issues and Miami can't pay is a little better discussion for a message board than the repeated "he gone" followed by the bashing of our staff. Because as bad as they are at a lot of things, if they can't pay and that is why we lost cook and Phillips that changes the argument a bit.
