Yep Butch and company were after him hard. Everyone was, he had a ridiculous prep career and started like 6 years of varsity making All-State 5 years in a row on both sides of the ball. Truly a generational talent for a state like Kentucky at that. There was another highly rated DE Julius Yeast on his same team that went to Ohio State. My family in KY said Yeast was the best defensive player they ever seen by a mile.
He chose to stay in state, which I think limited him from reaching his true potential. Had he played for us or pretty much any true football school he probably would’ve developed into a top 5 draft pick. He was massive and extremely athletic for his size.
