Dan radakovic fighting the good fight

Mario:

"Our job is to make the committee's job easier," Cristobal said during an appearance on the Joe Rose Show on Monday morning. "When you play the same opponent and do a better job against them, that carries a ton of value. We did that. We had an opportunity to play head-to-head and all the numbers that go with it. The way that game was graded and the way the offensive and defensive lines performed against each other and the way key players performed with what they were able to accomplish or however many yards they were limited to, I think you have a really clear picture as to who is most deserving. You have the data of playing each other and then you have the same opponents and done a better job outside of one where the other team had a lacrosse player starting at quarterback where it got out of wack. This isn't narratives. This is presenting the legitimate reasons why."

"We had the toughest non-conference schedule and we beat those teams and some of those teams got beat up along the way and fell off, but nobody else was willing to play Notre Dame, USF, and Florida," Cristobal said. "You look at us in November and we are playing significantly better than we did then and we are getting healthier.

"We feel we are just getting started. We are hitting on all cylinders and we are still getting healthy. This is a great time for us. That is both the eye ball test and the field test. We have put it on film and we have done it at the right time."

I have a feeling we jump ND tomorrow

I also think Ole Miss should get left out, half the staff is in ******* Baton Rouge for God sakes..... you don't think the players are also checked out and looking for next year's team?
if the committee has any integrity, we will be 10 tomorrow and ND will be 11. But we know it won't work out that way.

Oh wow. A Tweet. How bold!

He's the Jim Jordan of Athletic Directors. I expect a strongly worded email any day now.

What in the **** is he supposed to do, leave his bunker in South Carolina and actually punch in to work at his day job in Coral Gables immediately after the Thanksgiving holiday?

You are a cruel heathen...

The main problem with the College Football Playoff process is that the committee releases rankings too early. They published the rankings right after our losses, at a moment when Miami looked like they were trending downward. At the time, putting Notre Dame ahead of Miami may have seemed reasonable to most people.

But now the committee has essentially anchored to that spot, and it’s become very difficult for them to move Miami ahead of Notre Dame — even though the on-field results since then say otherwise.

I don’t understand why the we need to have CFp rankings before the season plays out. It’s premature. The rankings should work more like college basketball’s Selection Sunday — let all the games be played, allow the head-to-head results and metrics to fully settle, and then rank teams with all the evidence on the table.

Tomorrow is the ranking that matters as it is the last chance to factor in on field performance since many teams (including us despite how much of a joke that is) do not play again. Pressure is being mounted on all fronts and we played our best game on the road against a ranked oppt who has just played ND and said it didn't matter but this game kept Pitt out of ACCCG.
