Dan Mullen / Manny Diaz : ? For the masses

I'm not big on Diaz right now, and I simply base it off the numbers. Numbers to me are as objective as it gets, and they aren't favorable to Diaz. That being said, I'll give him one year. An aggressive 4-3 shouldn't have a learning curve for these kids. If they are truly allowed to play, they will get it quickly. The talent is there. If we can't be a top 3 D in the entire ACC, I see that as a red flag.

Remember when Donforio had the Canes 14th in total defense? What was Miami's record that season?

Sometimes, the numbers lie.

Yeah I know, they're not perfect, but what is?

Right, and that's what's called an anomaly. Why? B/C their scoring defense that year was 46th. That's why you look at both.

It is nearly identical situation that Diaz had in his first year at UT. Above average total d, mediocre scoring D.

The rest of both men's careers have been a sea of mediocrity. Diaz is a latin, 4-3 version of Dorito.

Wins and losses are the only thing that matters.

Y'all can have your offensive and defensive rankings ... I just want to win.

After we win, then I'll disect where we can improve our stats.

Boston College and Wisconsin had great defenses this season! Neither was a very good team.

I'll ride with Diaz! I didn't want Mullen because of his "O" mixing with the current QB's on our roster + future (Jack A.). I've witnessed Good Manny (GM) and Bad Manny (BM). I feel we will get more of GM cause MR will let him do his thing, which is being aggressive. Stats don't always tell the whole story. Cause when they had talent at UT, GM had a really good Defense. When that talent left, and Mack Brown started feeling the heat, BM stopped doing what he does best... which is being aggressive. IDK if Mack Brown made him dial it back cause he didn't like the risky style with young players or BM decided that. All I know is that they were not real aggressive. I do kno that sometimes when Head Coaches start to feel HEAT, they want to play "close" to the vest. Again, IDK if that was the case or if it was all on BM....... Then BYU happened! Mack was given no choice. BM had to go or else. With MR giving Manny the reigns to the D, because of his dealings with the "O", we will see the more aggressive Defense. Manny will be blitzing somebody early and often. And with Coach Kool teaching an aggressive one gap, attacking style, It could be a great match. It will also be nice to see Nickle and Dime packages for different situations.
