Earlier this morning on the local hour of their show, Dan talked about why he thinks Mark Richt shouldn't be considered the "savior" of this program and how he has his faults (just like all candidates do). Dan talked about how Butch Davis has shown you that he can do it here and in North Carolina. How Butch would instantaneously win this fan base back.

All that said, he call the Butch hire a "band-aid." That if we were to get Butch he would have to come at a major discount (as opposed to 4m+ for Richt), that shouldn't be a problem given how much he wants the job.

He went on to talk about how Butch should bring an a guy to be the HC-in-waiting. He gave the example of Chudzinski and how we would have an NFL caliber coaching staff just like that. Butch would show Chud the ropes, introduce him to all the people he knows, Chud would get a chance to learn the recruiting trails and get familiar with the hot beds.

4 years will go by, and then Chud takes the wheel of the program and we will not have to clean house time and time again.

Pipe dream? Maybe.

This would be the best course, in my opinion, for the current state of the football program.

This assumes that Butch would want to walk away after four years? He may want to hold on to what he rebuilt if he's successful.

I guess LeBaturd figures Butch has another scandal left in him and he can exploit that to revive his career as a journalist.

Sounds like a lot of trouble to go thru for a guy that hasn't coached in a few years man.

I love Butch. But that sounds like a headache

I think we are in good hands with Richt, Schiano, Butch, Mullen or Gundy.

Ill be happy if we get either of these guys. Gundy intrigues me the most out of all of them!

You may be right, maybe Dan is living in the past. But you cannot deny that he doesn't know this school and what it needs... No one knows this city and its sports more than LeBatard.

I'm in the same boat. All of them have their warts but they are all of a much higher caliber than the coaches we've been rolling through here for the last 15 years. I could get behind any of those 5

That sold you???

Butch is a boss and i hope he gets the chance to prove some of our cane fam on hede wrong. Im 100% confident we win with him but it will take time for anyone imo......but when he builds it it stays at a high level no drop off

We have a board full of gamblers. They so much as said it themselves. They want to gamble on a candidate and hope for the best. Like we havent been gambling the last 8 years...But yet you are labeled a "small time thinker"..Ok... Sorry..Im getting up from the table. My gambling days are over when it comes to coaches. Give me the proven guy. Thanks.

Chud is not leaving the NFL to take the same position at a college program. If he keeps calling plays the way he is, he might earn himself another head coaching gig in the league.

I really see no difference with Richt and Butch. Both put a lot of players in the league. Both have reliably strong defenses. Both run very similar offenses.

If the committee feels Butch is tarnished from UNC, I'm fine with Richt and think we'll have similar success.

He is hands down the best option for Miami on every level.

This^^^^^

But it makes to much sense for a lot of our fans that want to reinvent the wheel.

As opposed to the fans who are trying to relive the past when college football's modern history tells you it won't work. But I forgot Butch Davis is the one guy who can change all that.

it won't work ? you enjoy butch's players kicking our *** a couple weeks ago?

Is he really trying to revive his career as a journalist? I don't listen or watch much of his stuff but having a tv show on ESPN seems pretty good no?
