Dan Le Betard Show - Miami Scoop

Yep, because it makes a ton of sense for Miami to sit on money that could go to football, just because. A likely one time cash infusion to the program doesn't change the fact that there are legitimate reasons why you can't just move money around for football willy nilly. Never mind the funds that legally can't be moved(Earmarked), and other potential legal issues(Title IX).

It's amazing that so many people, who never trusted this administration to begin with are buying this "We're going to spend whatever it takes, by having UHealth subsidize the program" snow job. This smells like a "Say whatever needs to be said to said to get the bad PR to go away" ploy, and knowing how Frenk and others on the BOT operate, it makes a ton of sense. Blake James was incompetent, but I don't think he thought that everything was going to be "No" unless he was told that. I'm quite sure he would want to be employed and having funding to do whatever needs to be done is one of the easiest ways for an AD to stay gainfully employed.

Now, I'm not denying that UHealth is putting some cash in, but I would be willing to bet that there is a tacit agreement between Frenk and the people at UHealth that this isn't going to be permanent. In other words, UHealth puts money in now(Think seed money for a startup), the program better start leveraging that and turning a profit and become a self supporting entity that can compete. In other words, the benefits our fans keep touting better happen, which means that if this thing gets turned around(Which I hope happens), fans better actually do something they didn't do in the "Decade of Dominance", nor in the 2000-2004 run: SHOW UP AND SPEND MONEY.

I am 100% positive that not one penny from UHealth is going to football. Football has ALWAYS generated a large margin, over $20M. The problem is that surplus was used to fund other things. Now that the university doesn’t need those additional funds, it can go back into football.

Also, everyone points to UHealth, but the school itself had a margin around 100M. It was a great year overall.

Whomever the AD is, two things with respect to seating at the Rock.

1. Opposing fans tix need to be in the upper corner of the stadium. Lower bowl is BS.
2. Work something out with the Rock/Dolphins whomever it is to make certain you put season ticket packages in place to sell out the lower bowl. Ridiculous that more sit upper than lower…

I always thought this made more sense. I know they want higher prices for lower seats but it would look a lot better finding a way to compact fans closer to the field.

Tarp off empty sections up high and only open them when sales demand it. Would make our gameday atmosphere more comparable to bigger schools. They always talk 45-50,0000 seats whenever building a stadium is brought up anyway.

This all sounds good. But, I don’t want to end up like Texas. More money than god and they’re still ***. Please let this work. I’m 25. I’ve never seen winning. I’ll sacrifice my girlfriend for a natty

As long as the boosters stay in their place, we will be fine.

Find the happy medium. No meddling, but not letting problems spin out of control before intervening either.

It helps collecting roughly the same tuition without providing a good chunk of the services and getting a ton of tax credits for retaining employees.

You make a good point... with Miami attendance what they are, if possible work out arraingement for lower nowl seating only first, then upper deck. Would be a much better sight on TV.

the difference between manny and mario when trying to fix entitlement?

it is the same difference between secretary of state colin powell coming down a plane to visit a foreign leader vs secretary of state clinton or madelyn albright.

oh my, can we please come back to the topic at hand?

You don't think there's a lot to make fun of?
We have some wackos in Florida , no question but At the moment , people should be applauding Florida for how we navigated through this pandemic and other socialist bs going on.
As for Billy COHEN , He claims to be a big cane fan and overall “Miami guy “ but makes fun of us (Miami residents ) on the daily to his thousands of followers. So he should be cancelled (always wanted to try that )

I'm guessing he is the kinda snark who is 10' tall behind a keyboard, but a tad bit shorter and more timid in person.

Just a hunch.

They would be swimming in very hungry shark filled waters if they did. They could do reasonable marketing campaign with team, provide in-kind med support during athletic events. Not a huge amount to move the needle. At least not with HHS-sourced funds (the majority of their revenue streams).

The conceirge clinic makes money hand over fist, but not that kinda money.
