Dan enos turned down promotion at bama for Miami sight unseen

If Enos builds a championship-caliber offense the problem will be keeping him from taking a HC job.
 
He could have milked Bama for more money if he wanted to be there. He could have used the Bama OC job as a springboard to a HC job like pretty much every one before him. He left because he wanted out of Bama. He wanted away from Saban. Miami isn't going to pay him more than Bama would have and Miami isn't any better of an opportunity to get head coaching offers. He wanted out of Tuscaloosa plain and simple.

You are mostly correct, except ... If Enos had stayed and been successful he would have earned more money and received calls for a head coaching position.

They don’t pay their oc that much, Remember they have 2 of them . Venables is getting well over 2 million though and so is Dave aranda and Elko Texas A&M dc. Miami is well within top 10 salaries for OC around the country with they are paying enos

Enos has obviously moved around A LOT. I can't say with any certainty what his motivation for all the moves is.

Is he an opportunist?
Does he aspire to be a P5 HC?
Does he get bored and needs a new challenge?

Only he can answer the question about his motivation/s and I don't see him answering that question until/if the time comes.

I do know one thing for sure. I'm **** sure glad we got him.

I also take him at his word when he says that he and his Family fell in love with South Florida.
And I bet anything his family visiting the area during the Orange Bowl Classic made it much easier for him to decide. They probably were like this is way closer to paradise than anything Alabama can offer.

I think Venables has K-State and Oklahoma ties. K-State had Bill Synder but is now is a mess, and OU isn't available. This may be one reason he sticking with Clemson. He's DC for a program on a roll, has great talent, and makes great money. No reason to leave for just any HC job.

Let's hope Enos has similar feelings. He played at Michigan State. Dantonio is an excellent HC and done well but I don't think the Spartans can produce a consistent conference champion-playoff contender with Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State in the same Big 10 division.

right, i was thinking of what they paid their previous OC who is now at Arky? (not sure). either way, he ended up leaving anyways

they will have make a better offer to get him.he getting close to 2 mil now.people say he will be gone two years.if our offense lights it up this season he could be one and done.but a school would have to offer a lot more than 2 mil to get him.

I think it was 95% Saban being a prick. A chance at turning UM's O around and working with Diaz was the other 5%.

Oh, for sure. There's no doubt that he probably enjoys the lifestyle in Coral Gables over Tuscaloosa.
