Dan enos turned down promotion at bama for Miami sight unseen

Dan Enos is obviously a confident and smart guy. He realizes that just about any OC can be successful at Bama with the talent they already have on deck. He realizes if he comes here and takes what we have and makes something special, the rewards will be greater. Plus, from all accounts, working for Nick Satan is no picnic. Manny, on the other hand, is much more approachable.

the biggest surprise to me was him turning dwon the UGA job. staffers left Bama like crazy over the last 2 or so years.

He clearly wanted to get the **** away from Saban. A job opening at a potential powerhouse was the perfect reason to bolt.
 
This quote from that article by the guys at football scoop is falling on deaf ears for many of the talking media guys/even pessimistic fans and their outlook on Miami this year

He'll have full autonomy here to run the O his way. That's incredibly attractive to certain coaches.

Exactly. Coupled with the recruiting hotbed and the open mindedness of Manny, it’s a no brainer. It’s not like Enos was some up and coming coach. Saban uses his assistant coaches the same way Bellicheck does, they put up with the tyrant attitude in exchange for winning and to build their resume. At some point they move on to better opportunities.

I’m not sure exactly how much Enos is getting paid, but there were rumors it was in the $1.5mm to $1.75mm range.

This article is spot on. If he can improve our offensive output, then we could be looking at a great season. Our D will be tougher the longer they stay on the sideline.
 
If Enos is successful here he is a two year hire tops. Which is fine by me cause tha means the offense is on par we the defense and we are winning.
 
I would LOVE to hear that whole conversation between Manny and Enos. Diaz sold him on Miami with his passion for the U. This team would run through a wall for Coach Diaz. I hope they come out and punch gayters right in the mouth.

I never expected that he would be here much longer than 2 years.

As you implied that would be a sign of him doing great things here....so it would be good for him and us.

Enos makes QBs look better wherever he goes. The guy has our QBs averaging 70% completion rate in last night's scrimmage. He is the truth, and we are going to win a lot of game THIS season.

A guy like that can coach wherever he wants. Nice to see he chose the U. Let's enjoy his time here, boys, because he is gone in 2 years after we win the Coastal this season and the ACC next.
