damon wilson earned his check tonight

the roughing the passer was weak and got them their second td. them calling that overturned the fumble.
he did come alive.
The play that changed the game.

It was the quintessential play that always happens in “one of those” ACC games. Bad juju.

We’re destroying them. Get an absolute monster turnover—our first of the season—by destroying their guy. We are gonna be playing backups soon.

Then “one of those flags” happens.

**** is crazy.

It was perfect for them they got their darlings in the conference and still had Miami make it and make the natty

Nothing but hi fives at ACC HQs

Ive watched Wilson for a few years now. I even remember us recruiting him out of HS, before he signed with UGA. At UGA, I was interested in how he would develop with Trey Scott. UGA really emphasizes DL getting their hands on OL and being physical, which wasnt Wilson's game out of HS. I think part of the issue at UGA was that he wasnt particularly physical at the LOS.

At Mizzou, @ the Edge, he was asked to get the passer and nothing more. It played well into his strengths but hurt his development.

And here at UM, after 3 games, I see a DL who has no counters and doesn't set up his pass rush at all. He tries to peak over OL and once he's engaged, he doesn't seem interested in disengaging. WF was his best game but I dont think thats saying much

I think he needs some time with JT to really work on his craft. For what I have seen from Lightfoot this season, Im surprised 8 isn't on the field more.

lol. He almost lost us the game. Roughing passer, unsportsmanlike on special teams and offsides on critical down.
You got a lot of thumbs down or whatever, but you’re spot on. He completely changed the trajectory of the game with the roughing the QB. If that doesn’t happen, we get the fumble recovery and I don’t think the offense flutters as much as they did. Also the costly offsides that led to a first down on fourth and two. And another bonehead penalty.

He did, however, atone a bit by getting to the QB relentlessly last three drives. Also was held on just about every play; some called, some not. The DL finally looked good and he was a big part.

Clean up the dumb sh*t and he’ll be solid. He’s not what we had last season though.
